no they are not born that way, Right is right and wrong is wrong and that is wrong and being misconceived as hate, God open up the earth and all fornication went into the earth, People are demon ed possessed that are like this, It is called blinded, making ones self make others to except it, Because some of em are so funny and sweet, don't matter it is wrong, I don't hate those that are what they call Gay, But i am not giving in to "it"because I am not blinded to the wrong and evil that consume those that are, Gay.The lord teaches in His words that one day men and women will lose their place in this world, Hum, some men don't no that they are men any more and some women don't no that they are women any more, And you are asking me, are they born that way , seem to me you are blinded to some thing that is of all wrong, men with we rd voices or high pitch voices don't mean that they are gay means that they are very unique and those women that grow hair has hormone problems, God bless the USA and Israel and All,It is a choice that one gives into ,And just because you are attractive to the opposite sex don't make it right it is called giving into this evil sex demon, that is having you look own the opposite sex this way, it is WRONG<

Answer this question for yourself. If you are straight and want the answer to this question simply ask the question of yourself this way "Are straight people born this way, or do we choose one day?" Whatever your answer is for yourself will be the same answer for gay people. If you believe that you have always been straight and you were born that way you can then understand that gay people were born the way they were. If you made a choice in your life to be straight than you can believe that gay people also made a similar choice. If you want to explore this more that is fine but it does nothing to ask the same question over and over again.

People are almost certainly homosexual because of genetics. There is a great deal of scientific evidence that it is inborn. Beyond scientific evidence there is anecdotal evidence.
The fruit fly study is actually fairly conclusive. But the pheremonal and eye blink studies are also compelling. I've included links below for those that are interested. Beyond that, research increasingly suggests that at least for males, Xq28 is the crucial gene. I am saddened by this, because I believe that once it is proven, gay people will be wiped out -- and I think that is sad, because given the number of species in which homosexuality exists (see Dr. Bruce Bagemihl's book "Biological Exuberance" from St. Martin's Press) I think it serves a purpose, and has been evolutionarily preferred. The recent Italian study by Andrea Camperio-Ciani and colleagues pretty clearly shows both how and why a gene or gene set causing homosexuality, particularly in males - would survive and be preferred evolutionarily.
In addition to scientific evidence is the anecdotal evidence. I never in my life had any sexual feeling for a female -- nor any romantic feelings. I have had romantic feelings for other males since 8. I figured out it was sexual at 11 and came out at 14. I never felt anything for girls, neither do other gay males I know. Some boys manage to suppress it for a time, but when it comes out they admit to having always had the feelings. Likewise for bisexuals, although bisexuals always have feelings for both, and therefore are capable of choice -- for real. Gays are no more capable of choice than straights are.
There is nothing either wrong or unnatural about being homosexual. Enjoy the links -- and think about the gay people you know. While some, particularly younger ones, may be risk takers or may be into drugs --- think about the young straight men you know -- how many of them are risk takers -- or into drugs? It's gender and age far more than sexuality. Others are, I would bet, settled, calm, caring and successful.
The only thing being gay does is change who you sleep with. No one chooses it however, no one is driven to "that path." It is simply natural and normal for some people. As I am sure you would hate to be told consistently, by everyone around you, that being heterosexual was evil, wrong, unnatural -- and "that path" when you know perfectly well it is natural to you, understand that gay people feel the exact same way. It is natural and normal to a gay person -- and having intercourse with, or romance with -- a member of the opposite gender is unnatural and abnormal.
Kind regards,
Reynolds

I cannot believe that some people actually think that this is a chosen thing. People who prefer a partner of the same sex are ATTRACTED to people of the same sex. They are attracted to that person for the same reason heterosexuals are attracted to the opposite sex. Physical, yes, but it is based on personality and compatibility, just the same as us. Remember that homosexuals are the same as us...HUMAN. They have families and love each other exactly the same as we do, maybe better, because they are constantly being scrutinized and shunned and learn to appreciate who they are with. I am happy to see that there is more of an acceptance than in the past. People who are homophobic are not stupid, simply uneducated about human nature. It does not go along with my religion, but God made this person and I will accept them as my brother or sister and their partner in life too. People say how can you stand to watch two people of the same sex kiss and touch? Well, are they complaining when they have to watch heterosexuals teenagers (and sometimes adults) making out in our malls and parks? What two (or more) consenting adults do in the privacy of their own home is no one business.

I am bi-sexual and I have always been this way I certainly didnt wake up and decied to pick this sexual orentation out
do u think straight ppl wake up and choose thats how there gonna go ?
I dont think so why would gay ppl pick that out
so doesnt make sense if u really think of it
and ppl who actually belive that I think it makes them feel better to think that way and makes it easier to dislike gay or lesbian ppl.
which is very wrong to hate on something someone has no control over.

I didn't choose to be straight...so, i'm assuming that gay people don't choose to be gay...we are all born the way that we are.

i am undecided.without makinging any judgements on the rights of wrong of homosexuality,i think i can come around to believing the are born this way.But the stumbling block is the issue of paedophilia-are they born this way or they shaped.
ok paedophilia is unnatural, although they mite argue that once puberty is reached the person/child is old enough.
i think for us all whatever our opinions we need to study the subject of sexuality more ,because this is is one of the few subjects that we cannot help but be guided by our emotions and instincts. Why is this so?This needs to be explored too.
We cannot discuss this issue within the dimensions of liberalism/political correctness alone.

It's both a choice and not.
I mean... You can't choose who you're attracted to, but people that say they are fully gay are like people who say they are fully straight. It just seems right to them.
If you believe in soulmates, it's hard not to believe in homosexuality. Your souls are meant to be together. You've traveled unmeasurable distances to be together. Through time and space... And guess what? You both have the same body types!! Are you going to lose your soul mate because of this?
Love shouldn't be about how physically easy it is to be sexual with one another.
Do you love someone for their physical aspects? Yes? Then guess what?? It's not actual love.
I'm not saying that there aren't homosexuals out there that aren't just as whorish and physically based as some straight people, but that's just it...
They're the same creatures.
Some like yin, some like yang.
