Out of the numerous choices there are for the best goalkeeper in the world, there is a huge debate. Juventus's Gianluigi Buffon's performance in the 2006 World Cup really boosted his stock for this prize. Petr Cech of Chelsea, though currently injured, is also a favorable option. Iker Casillas of Real Madrid is also very talented. If I needed a keeper to build a team around, I'd have to go with Cech. He's 6'6" and only 24 years old while Buffon is only 6'3" (only 6'3"... hehe) and 29 years old. Their talent is pretty near even besides my decision. If I had one game I needed to win tonight, I would use Buffon, though. He comes ready to the big match. He won't get nervous and let you down when it counts the most.
