Some folks think we have back in the late 40's in Roswell, New Mexico. One thing IS certain, look up at night and count the stars. What you see is but a fraction of the total and as we know some of those stars have planets. Some of those planets may have life, and some may have intelligent life. With distances being as vast as they are, no one can get anywhere without a way to travel faster than light. Is there anyone out there? Who knows....

The most likely answer is No. The nearest inhabitable planet is so far away that beings really don't have a hope of visiting each other - it would take too long to get here.
