I do. I am a fan of Metallica. The 80's was when Metallica was at their best. I happen to like all of their 1980's albums. Kill Em All was good but they later matured in the albums after their release. Ride The Lightning is great. Some of my favorite songs from the album are Fade To Black, For Whom The Bell Tolls and Fight Fire With Fire. Master Of Puppets was even better and was Metallica's breakthrough album. Some of my favorite songs are The title track, Battery, Welcome Home (sanitarium), Damage Inc. and The Thing That Should Not Be. And Justice For All is a great album as well and arguably, their most underrated album of the 1980's. My favorite songs from this album are the Title track, One, Eye Of The Beholder and The Frayed Ends Of Sanity. Metallica is one of the best selling acts in history and to add, they are Grammy award winners. Metallica is the greatest band ever and I will be a fan for as long as I live.

Early Metallica is untouchable when it comes to thrash. Kill 'Em All, Ride the Lightning & Master of Puppets are all brilliant. And Justice for All is a great record - but I don't put it on the same level as those other records. Since that point, though, with a few exceptions, they've completely lost me.

Other great bands who could be considered thrash (at least some of their discography) would be Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax, Testament, Dark Angel, Exodus, Flotsam & Jetsam, Sodom, Kreator, Destruction, and Voivod....all great bands.

I don't think any of those metallica albums can keep pace with Slayers Reign in Blood. As far as thrash goes anyway. But I'd agree with you that those metallica albums were the best of metallica. I also seem to remember votes taken by Thrasher magazine had Reign in Blood as the #1 thrash album for several years running. But that was close to 15 years ago so... I could be wrong.

I do agree with that. But metallica is one of the best thrash metal band of all time. Cause there are more bands in thrash metal to talk to.
