Who are some truly amazing and highly talented coaches for any sport at the professional level that have had one or more terrible seasons.

I am contesting an individual that blames a teams losing record entirely on the coach. They claim that if a team has skilled players but have a low winning record then they are without-a-doubt "under-coached"

Thanks for your insight and information

No doubt,, Mike Shani........ (coach of chargers). He had the best offense, great defense, and a team FULL of stars. The way they lost to NE was truel heart breaking.

I believe one coach who fits the bill is Jeff Fishcer of the Tennessee Titans. Although he has had a few good seasons since 2000, he has had more bad seasons than good. For the last three seasons (not including this season) he has had a horrible record. Sure they had talent, but they just weren't that lucky, and the AFC isn't exactly an easy conference.

I gotta agree with Joe Gibbs. He's the only man to win 3 Super Bowls with 3 different QB's. Bill Parcells had some bad seasons before turning teams around.

^dude, it's mARTY SchOTTENHEIMER that is the coach of the Chargers --and I must agree --we had talent and good coaching but idiot mistakes by certan players (oddly enough ones that I would place lower on the "talent scale" on our team) lost the game for us ---but Rivers wouldn't have been able to play any other game in the playoffs anyway (not saying Volek couldn't win, but it's less likely, and not as good an ending as doing it w/Phil)

"The Chin," (Cowher), this past year. He retired after it.
