I suppose I always think of downtown; I used to work at the Federal Reserve Bank back in 1976, so I was in the downtown area a lot (it's been moved since I left). Neiman-Marcus and the old Titche's and Sanger-Harris Department stores also come to mind, and the crazy Hare Krishnas on the streets; receiving more Twix bars than I can count from people hired to promote them when they first came out, and being offered (and refusing) tons of cigarettes, likewise as promotions. The Hop-A-Bus shuttle - big old-fashioned buses painted pink with bunny ears and a big cotton tail attached (no, I'm not kidding...!).

big hats, big hair... j/k. Dallas is my hometown and I think about the downtown dallas area, places like the museum of art and Dealey plaza where JFK was shot. I can remember driving past in on the highway on the weekends when I would drive home from college and I can remember on a plane seeing it from up above. It's a little sentimental, I guess.

Ultra conservatives, right wingers, women with big *** hair, narrow minded people-- George Bush country. When I lived in Dallas, I noticed all people talked about was getting drunk (no wonder TX is the state with the highest DWI/DUI statistics) -- BORING! Nothing to do but work, go to the mall, and restaurants.
