If people think that Americans are arrogant, spoiled, uneducated brats, then last night watching Landon refuse to talk to the Spanish reporter confirmed it for them. Univision even said on the air how ill-mannered Landon was. All he wanted to do was try and congratulate him. Who knows, talking to Univision could of been a good thing to promote the MLS??? Then when he decided to talk to the US reporters, he just tries to bash the Mexicans by saying he tries to shake their hands, but they won't shake his. Come on DUDE, you think you are perfect????? If he plans to play with Beckham, he had better learn some class. The MLS needs good people to market their product. Not overrated brats who can't show up for the big games (WC '06). He went to Europe and couldn't get respect. So for that he has to disrespect every other country? Open your eyes Landon!

I am a white american through and through. My family has been here many generations. With that said, I can't stand Landon Donovan. I haven't liked him for years. He is very arrogant, and thinks too highly of his skills. He refuses to adapt to new styles of play, hence the reason he failed in Europe. He thinks he is the white Pele or something and it irritates me. As for the US beating Mexico, I'm excited for it. People can say all they want about lucky bounces, and who dominated the game, but isn't that how every game goes? After the final whistle blows, the team with the most goals wins, no matter how they went in. It's not random luck that the US won that game. At one point they cracked the top 10 of the FIFA rankings last year. Whether people like it or not, the US is finally starting to realize they can compete with good programs. It probably won't happen in 2010, but I think the US could win a World Cup pretty soon. And yes it will be before Mexico wins one.

I don't think that Donovan is giving the US a bad name and this is coming from a Mexican. At such a young age Donovan has become an icon in US soccer and he still has a long way to go. I don't know why people are making a big deal over why Donovan did not talk to Univision. You can clearly here Donovan say "hold on" El pendejo de Univision no le entendio and said that he had no class, please, what about the Mexican soccer players?! leaving without shaking hands or swaping shirts, the Mexican players can't do that!! they have a lot of PRIDE!! ORGULLO!! and I am a shame of that.

Th US played with a lot of new and young players vs Mexico. For most of the American players, that was their first international game and they played a great game. Some important US players missed the game. I think that it was the same game that they played against Mexico in the 2002 World Cup. The US was relax, defended good and waited for Mexico to make a mistake (like they always do).

Mexico has no offense. Borgetti can't score a goal unless they give him the ball and if, IF!!, the other team lets him. When have you seen him make a play for himself?!! Fonseca.... poor guy, he was lost since he started to play, I bet that he didn't know he was playing against US. Blanco and his Joroba was only doing "taconsitos" You can't win a game by just doing that!! Oswaldo..... one of the Icons of Mexico.... he screwed up big time!! now he gives Mexico a bad name, yo should changed your question from Donovoan to Oswaldo and US for Mexico, I don't need to say anything about Oswaldo, everybody saw what he did and should be punished.

The only positive thing that I can say about Mexico is the deffense, Pardo, Guardado, Bravo and Medina. I think that Marquez, Osorio and Salcido are doing a fantastic job in their clubs. Pardo is also doing a great job, but he is a little old, he is going to be around 35-36 in the next world cup, I hope that he can make it to it. Guardado should be a started in the Mexican team, if Hugo is as smart as he claims to be, he should call Guardado to every Mexican game. Bravo and Medina are two young players that are doing great in Chivas and I hope that they make the move to Europe anytime soon.

Hugo Sanchez should push all of the young Mexican soccer players to migrate to Europe, even if it is in a second division league. Lets face it, any second division league in Europe is way more competitive then La Primera Division de Mexico. If Mexico really thinks that they are going to be champions with 9 players in Europe (Marquez(Spain), Salcido(Holland), Osorio(Germany), Pardo(Germany), Vela(Spain), Dos Santos(Spain), Castillo(Greece), Galindo(Switzerland), De Nigris(Turkey) they have another thing coming. Out of those 9 players, only 4 have played with Mexico. Hugo Sanchez has a lot of work to do.

Mexico has to have more players in Europe if they want to be compete at a international level, specially, they need to have more offensive players play in Europe. What would happen if most of the players that are playing now in Europe get injured and can't play in the next WC?!! is Hugo going to use that as an excuse of why the did not win the WC?? im pretty sure he is going to do that.

wow, i'm amazed at some of the asnwers some of you put up here. now take it from a person who has lived in italy for some years, and is born and bread in the USA, Landon Donovan is an extremely gifted player, and not arrogant at all. i know, i've met the guy. if anything, he's the complete opposite. he's shy, quiet, and rarely ever speaks highly of himself, but rather of the team. now, you can say whatever you want about team USA, but the fact of the matter is that the mexican team is filled with a bunch of old sore losers. i mean, sanchez tried to trip eddie johnson when he was celebrating the donovan goal; borgetti blatantly pushed conrad; and the entire team, not for the first time, decided not to shake the hands of the US players. the mexican players are just the worst of the worst, and fifa should review the game and penalize the vast majority of them. and as for the players that play abroad, just because you play alongside great players doesnt make you a great player, i mean, just because mark madsen played alongside kobe and shaq on the lakers, does that make him equal to them? NO, the same goes for the mexican players playing abroad. and although donovan didnt perform as expected to this last WC, i think you are all forgetting the landon donovan who not only scored a bunch of goals in WC2002, but who scored against mexico. that's as far as mexico will ever get in the WC, while the US, given a couple of more years, will become a good team, and with some luck a great team because for the first time in history, the american youth is becoming more skilled and much more talented than the mexican youth at soccer, and all of it can be pointed at the horrid mentality that the mexicans have towards sportsmanship. i mean, look at their coach, all he ever did was criticize the past mexican coaches and players, but he wasnt able to back up his trash talk; like all the other mexican coaches and players before him, he's all talk, but no substance.

I guess everyone forgot that before the game Univision aired an interview with Landon Donovan. Remember? Maybe it wasn't on the pitch but it shows that he speaks with the Spanish media and has nothing against Univision. If the Mexican fans were throwing things onto the pitch, I'd make sure to get out of there as soon as I could too. I guess it's just easier to forget about this and call him a rat bastard, right?

By the way, did anyone see Sanchez try to intentionally tackle Eddie Johnson as he was running by to celebrate the 2nd goal? Geez, the ball wasn't even in play...talk about classless.

Landon Donovan hated Mexico from day one,he just can't deal with the fact that the Mexican national soccer team gets way more exposure and draws way more crowds than the American side....One thing is for sure the guy had a heck of a game last night versus Mexico and that is going to feed his ego even more,he just lives and trains to beat Mexico, but the truth is that he will never shine at international level, Like Rafa Marquez Champion of Europe and Starter with Barcelona.....Or Carlos Salcido Undisputable starter with PSV the current Dutch leaders...But where does Landon Play? LA GALAXY??? let me clear my throat and laugh out loud!!! he showed his poor performance at the last WC ....He came back to the MLS because he got tired of being a bench warmer in Europe just like David Beckham...what a joke that pair is going to be playing together for the LA GALAXY....but all that really matters to MLS? It is the money they are going to make by bringing Becks to the MLS ...it's all about the benjamins baby!!! and Landon Donovan is a NOBODY and will always be a NOBODY...who cares if he refused to talk to the univision network?? He just showed how low class he really is for god sakes!!! I HAVE NO RESPECT FOR THIS J A C K H O L E

That's idiotic. The Mexican team showed no class, and he was rightfully upset about it. Landon has more class in his little finger that the entire team of Tri-colored Losers.

Get off your high horse. You just can't get over the fact that he's right about the arrogant Mexican losers.

And for the id*ot above who can't find her caps key, and who said:

"HEY IM MEXICAN-AMERICAN TOO AND ILL LIKE TO SAY THAT USA SUCKS SH*T AND THAT MEXICO IS BETTER"

Uh, no. Only an idiot who doesn't pay attention would say that. Let me help you:

USA vs. Mexico last 10 games. 8 wins, 2 losses, 1 draw.

At home? 7 wins, 1 draw. 13 goals for, zero against.

You see, MEXICO SUCKS!!! You have NO class, bad attitudes, and you are LOSERS!!!

The truth is in the numbers.

Glad to be able to help.

You're right, he is arrogant, spoiled and uneducated. What he did last night wasn't the first time and when he does talk, the only thing that comes out of his mouth is indirect insults. This doesn't help the U.S. image in Mexico and the rest of the world. The rest of the world already sees the U.S. as arrogant, and when a player representing the U.S. acts that way, it reinforces all the worlds beliefs. I'm Mexican but live in the U.S. and it's sad because this country is better than that.

He had a great opportunity to mend some of the fence he helped damage. He sure isn't helping relations between the two sides.

He is part of the problem - you can see the same thing from both of the Sanchez fellas - not that anything they do or say is an excuse.

Junkmailsux (yes it does suck!) - there was a lot of hacking in that game, and it went both ways - as it always does. I've seen tough matches the US has played where they didn't show the same dirty play - I have yet to see one game where the tricolor don't show dirty play as part of their game plan. Don't they embarrass you a little bit?

The only reason I don't go for the U.S. team is mainly because Landon Donovan. HE IS SUCH AN A** HOLE! he says he hates Marquez and to believe he disrespected the holy Estadio Azteca by urinating!!! I hate Landon Donovan because for whatever reason it is, he always tries to talk bad about the mexicans. Is he jealous or what? what is the reason for this hate?

To be fair he was probably still mad at Mexico for when they refused to shake hands when he turned down the Univision interview, Also I understand where he is coming from, If the Mexico team would not show him respect why should he talk to there channel anyway?
