No-- But you do have to change the filter and fluid on the maintenance schedule. You don't have to change all the fluid unless there is a break down. and it is smarter to change the filter---after all there is a greater chance that transmission damage will happen from a plugged filter then the thermal break down of the fluid. Transmission fluid breaks down around 300-350 degrees--but transmission damage can happen sooner then that. If the transmission fluid is burnt that is not going to fix what is wrong. Kind of like giving someone a glass of water for a broken leg. After you change the filter and clean the specks out the pan (yes, that can be normal depending on the amount) do you really want the old fluid put back in ?---but flushing is a waste--but a great money maker. Does the manufacturer--the one that included your warranty and wants you to have a great experience with the car ever shows on the maintenance book that it is needed to flush your transmission--in 99.99% no!. Next week we have a special to change the air in your tires and lube your muffler bearing--only $49.99.

Well i will try to answer this question but it is not a simple yes or no answer. first if your transmission oil is burnt. yes you want to flush and change it. if your car sits for many years you will want to change it. if it has hi miles it would be a good idea to change it.

just about any other reason is not a good reason to change it. now that we covered that topic. lets look at the so called flush. some places simply insert a tube and suck out the old oil and install new. they call that a flush. it really should be called a rip off.

first there only getting about half the fluid. secondly there not changing the screen(filter).

some places drop the pan on your tranny and change the screen. this is a tad better but not even close to being right. a real flush requires the transmission, torque converter, and cooler to be drained and clean.d and new filters installed. this can be expensive and very labor intensive work. but it is really the only way you will get it done right.

don't let any one tell you other wise. now to put this in terms any one can under stand. if some one spits in your coffee would you just pour it half out and refill it? or would you empty it all out and clean your cup????

i thought that make it easier to under stand.

All lubricants and fluids in a vehicle eventually wear out.

A full flush removes more of the transmission fluid (90%-95%) of the old fluid, rather than a simple drain and fill (60%-75%) of your dirty fluid.

A transmission drain and fill is significantly cheaper. If done on a yearly basis, I see no reason that you must do a transmission flush.

The key is to ensure there is a minimal amount of particulate in the fluid to prevent damage to the transmission.

By the time most people get around to doing a full flush, it's typically because there is already some type of transmission problem because they let too much particulate accumulate in the transmission fluid.

yes you need to do this..
as long as your not having any problems with the transmission.. no slipping of the gears...

the main reason transmissions go out is because the fluid wears out over time,,

After a transmission flush, you will notice the difference in smoother shifting, improved performance, reduced component failure, and increased vehicle longevity ..

now if your having problems with slipping gears.. dont mess with it.. take it to a repair shop

its not neccesary, but it is good for your car. it can be a hassle to change the fluid, so most people dont do it, and the transmissions still work ok, but eventually, it can be harmful

Do you really need tooth paste? I mean come on, a dry brush over the teeth will work just as well.
