I heard that it was illegal because the government is not able to control it, or something of that matter. I have talked to my doctor and he said that he has seen way worse effects of alcohol and regular smoking than he has of weed. I don't think that it should be totally illegal, but I do think that it should be illegal to smoke and drive. Just like alcohol is.

risk is it is not weed in any respect, yet is very a legal organic determination. As for unlawful weed, maximum persons interior the united kingdom get a product which has been decrease, fiddled with and is by no ability what it says on the tin. whilst i do no longer smoke the stuff myself, I do think of it would be bought with the aid of pharmacists, so as that there is not any risk of contaminants being further, and consumers would desire to be provided help to kick the habit in the event that they needed to. it would additionally quit those idiots from fiddling their electric powered so as that they'd improve the stuff. I actual have visited six properties the place hashish is grown interior the final twelve months, and the persons interior do no longer realize which you will scent the kit from the line. Amusingly those have been truthfully all people of their 20s, who stay among pensioners, that's why they have by no ability been caught.

The open-minded pot smoking hippies of the sixties gave the political elite a real **** whooping. Since then, they have done everything within their power to keep such free thinking activism to a minimum. Besides that--once the legal system finds another source of income through persecution--they just don't give it up. Marijuana usage falls right in line with the Prison Industrial Complex. Then you got the insurance companies interest--Look what happens when your injured on the job. The first thing they want you to do is go and take a drug test so they can deny your comp claim.

Hemp by-products, also threaten other industries due to the many uses it can be utilized for which can compete directly with other manufactured goods.

Meathook you need to do some research almost all the state and local level legislation on marijuana has been approved. As for why its illegal now, it is because (I don't remeber the year and I don't feel like looking it up) but it was decided that our problems with blacks and mexicans could be solved by outlawing marijuana. It is still outlawed today because alot of people make alot of money putting people in prison for non-violent marijuana offenses. I personally think that if everyone would just step back smoke a joint or two the world would be a better place.

Weed is a Drug. It is addictive and destructive.
Years ago our country decided to allow alcohol and tobacco to be legal, remember prohibition?
Our government did not do this because people love it and demanded it. They did it because they knew they could make money taxing it. And the tobacco and alcohol companies became powerful. Your money you pay them for the products, their profit, gives them power. With power they can control us more than you think. Many tobacco companies also own food companies. That is why they complied to put warnings on their tobacco products and have commercials on TV about the fact it is unsafe. They are so powerful now that they can not go under and fold. They control big bussiness. Food Companies like Kraft (like your macaroni and cheese) is owned by a tobacco company. They offer trips and gifts to our legislature so that they retain their power. They make friends in high places.

Yes, alcohol and tobacco are addicting just like Weed. But it is a little harder to make these products and so the government can control it better. Weed can be grown anywhere, in your basement, in your backyard, in a field, in your bathtub. So how can they regulate it and get tax dollars from it. Everyone will grow their own and not really buy it.

Weed is just as destructive to your lungs, heart, and circulatory system as tobacco. It is just as addictive and you get a faster high than alcohol so it takes less. Weed can destroy your body and your mind. It kills brain cells faster than the other two. That is because it is immediate hit to the brain through the blood stream. That is the immediate high you get.

I grew up in the 60's. There was weed everywhere. They even used to cook it into brownies. Smoke it, chew it, eat it, and fill the air with it. It was common. The bad part is we really did not face the long term affects of regular use. Many of the homeless you see on the streets were drug addicts and their first drug of choice was weed. As the weed killed the brain cells they moved on to more and harder drugs. Many from the 60's who were into drugs now live on the streets or are dead. Weed should not be legal. Our governement does not need to make money off the back of our youth.

Back when Dow Chemicals invented plastic it lobbied congress to outlaw hemp ( which was used to produce rope among other things) which would be its main competitor or so I've heard.

Did you know that 20 acres of hemp will produce more paper pulp annualy then 20 acres of softwood will produce in 20 years?

Lets reconsider weeds legality or else outlaw tobacco and alcohol which really aren't much different than weed if you leave the hype and propaganda out of the argument.

Kids don't smoke weed it sucks the motivation to achieve out of you. Believe me.

I am for legalization but the only argument I have heard that I could not refute was that there is no way to tell if you are currently high, or how much it is affecting you. Therefore we have not DUI test for weed, the urine test only tells us if you have smoked in the last month not if you are currently high.

Because the only people that truly want it legalized are potheads. The average American is against the legalization. Now groups are trying to legalize it by going through the back door saying for medical purposes. This is a lie. They just want to be legally able to get stoned. California has legalized medical marijuana, and anything qualifies as a medical reason, no matter your age.

It is a drug. Just like any other drug when it is used in excess it causes problems, and maybe even death. Also like any other drug it can have some good sides. Some cancer patients use it to control pain. The average American population has shown that they cannot use weed safely. The same holds true for alcohol and we even tried prohibition, but that didn't work either.

Because the majority of the voting population still believes it should be. That is why past attempts to legalize it have been defeated and the local, state and federal levels.
