Do Male Turtles Lay Eggs

It is a female turtle, males can not lay eggs. And When I explain this to people I compare them to chickens. You know how chickens can lay eggs without the eggs being fertile it's the same with reptiles they lay eggs no matter if they are fertile or not.

Females(and ONLY females) lay eggs. Sometimes they lay without a male present. Your turtle is a female, and no, the eggs will NOT hatch. Sorry.

Your turtle is a girl
A mate is not needed in order to lay eggs..they will not hatch though.

Think about it..the eggs you buy at the market all come from hens and are unfertilized..which means there was no rooster around.

No...male turtles do not lay eggs. And they are not hermaphroditic...my guess is the eggs are not fertilized and they will not hatch into anything.

No! Only females lay eggs, so you probably have a female and thought it was a male.

Chris, you have a boy and a girl turtle, and depending on the species they do take some time to mature enough to successfully mate, especially in captivity because the conditions of you house normally stay relatively the same all year.
