Your mucus plug does not have to come out before labor. When I was pregnant with my daughter, I was in labor for over 5 hours before the mucus plug came out. Everyone's labor and related symptoms happen in their own order, not anything set in stone for everyone :)

well just because you haven't seen your mucus plug yet
it doesn't mean that your not going to have the baby on the 13th, because I didn't either but I went into labor the day before I was due, in actuallity you can be having real labor but if your cervix is not dialated 4cm or more the hospital will not admit you. What I suggest you do the minute you feel that tightening of the stomache you should either go out side and start walking or go to the mall and walk for about 2 hours of course resting in between.Yes when your stomache tighten like that you are having braxton hicks as well as if you feel mild cramping that is not 3min.s apart or that last longer than one hour your probably not in active labor. If your trying to make the baby come on your exact due date email me at letseyg@yahoo.com have some things you could do that really work.

I used to think my baby was curing up in a ball or sticking out but then I did some research and found out they were braxton hicks! There is no telling when the baby will come, I feel the same way you do just a week behind ya! Good luck!

Lots of women go over their due dates; due dates are simply an estimate of when your baby will be born. My son was born exactly a week after his due date. What you're experiencing are contractions ... be sure to start timing them if they become regular (if they are occuring every 10 mins or so you will need to call your doctor immediately!). As far as not losing your plug, don't fret. That's mostly just a heads-up. I lost mine in the morning and was in the hospital that night delivering. Best of luck!

I never saw my mucus plugs, a show or anything else, I just went into labor. Hang in there, it will happen when it happens. Try & relax about it and BTW those are Braxton Hicks you're feeling.

I never saw my mucous plug and I delivered at 39 weeks 4 days. The baby will stop moving during labor because it is making its way down the birth canal

Sometimes the "show" doesn't happen until you are in labour, or sometimes it happens over a few weeks so you don't even notice it and just think it's a little bit of extra discharge! (as gross as that sounds)

The show can happen up to a month before you deliver, or while you are in labour, so don't worry!

Tightening of stomach muscles is a "practise" contraction.
Seeing the plug doesn't mean labour is imminent, neither does the absence of it. Don't freak out!!!

The baby should never stop moving completely, if she/he does, you need to call your ob asap! They will stop moving during labor though. I never did lose my mucous plug, whereas, my friend lost her's 1.5 months before she went into labor. Good luck!
