what ham -aerial to have ? i have a yaesu ft-847 , have ground floor flat?

i have small patio area, and want to go on hf mainly 7 -14 m . whats the best aerial to have. not allowed to knock holes in the wall !!

Hi jamla, HF, small area, ground floor, seems like a ground mounted vertical would be the best fit. You could buy one or do like I've always, make one yourself out of TV antenna mast. Use a Tuner and it'll work on almost any band. Put a connector in the feed line and pass it through the window or door. You can disconnect when ur off air and no holes. You would just need 3 or 4 good gnd rods for the counterpoise. If you're in the mind to build, a good book is the CQ Vertical Antenna Handbook.
