Cmon now, how can the Spurs be slipping? I think the Spurs are just getting smarter. They are realizing that there really is no point in going full throttle all season, (i.e. Suns, Mavs) when it's all about being healthy and rested for the playoffs. There's no logical person that can say unequivocally that the Spurs wouldn't stand a chance in a 7 game series against either the Suns or the Mavs. I think for sure they'd beat the Suns and with the Mavs it would go to game 7 just like last year. Just take it as the Robert Horry philosophy of basketball is rubbing off on the rest of the team.

Their main role players are getting old. Finley, horry, barry and bowen. They just don't bring it every night, and they are not athletic enough to match up with some teams. Dallas and phoenix can play a small lineup with Marion or Howard at the 4 and the spurs just can't match up. But in the playoffs where they are no back to back games so the older guys can rest, so the spurs are still gonna be a very dangerous team. And with Tim Duncan you always got a chance.

Yes they are starting to slip and the mavs and suns are too good. The spurs can no longer keep up with them.

They are not as young as they used to be. They have also played the most games in the past 5 years overall. There comes a point when it takes it toll.
They will be alright after some rest during the All-Star break

yeah the spurs are definitly starting to slip, sadly..Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili are carrying the team, but when they're on the bench and the bench players are on the court, the game goes WAY down hill..too bad too because they used to rock.
Mavricks and Wizards on the other hand...now they rock

ater watching a few games i don't think there slipping. I think that sometimes maybe some teams start off bad and after a few games that start getting better and better and then suddenly there in the finals and then suddenly they have won the championship.

Their bench is getting thin. What is really happening is that the Mavericks have surpassed them deeper bench younger better players.
