Well, it all depends on which country you are visiting! For instance, in Iran wearing the light blue with circles would be appropriate. The women there actually wear hijab that is sooooo trendy and sexy, you wouldn't believe! However, let me make it veryyyyy clear, that they are placing a HUGE RISK on themselves! I don't recommend you do this...especially, as a foreigner! Although wearing some color is ok. Also, keep in mind that even within one country, the location that you are at will determine what you should wear. Certain cities are more religious than others...certain places are known for a young trendy population! So, please be aware of this and dress appropriately! When in doubt, dress more conservatively!!!

I hope you enjoy your trip to the Middle East...there is soo much to see and do and it will be a great experience. But please take care of yourself! You don't want to do something wrong, without your knowing it and have it cause problems! If you need any extra help or you have more questions about your trip, please email me (sfiroozn@uci.edu). I'd be more than happy to help out! :o)

LOL take it from me, i live in Saudi Arabia and have been all over the middle east. wear whatever design you'd like, with the exception of the following countries, where designs aren't acceptable: Saudi Arabia, Iran, Qatar, Oman.

as for Lebanon, the UAE, Jordan, Syria, Bahrain, and the rest, wear whatever you please, you don;t even have to wear a hijab to begin with in those countries.
