It depends on how much weight you put on and how fast. I gained weight pretty quickly with my first baby, because of bad eating habits. But, with my second pregnancy i didn't start actually buying maternity pants until 6 months. Everyone body is different and if you take good care of yourself you may still wear your regular pants for a while. Jeans are the tightest so i would wear mine with the button undone and a maternity shirt to cover the top. Belly's always grow faster so buying maternity pants isn't as easy as buying tops. Wear what makes you comfortable!!
*One more thing...please don't spend $40 on a pair of maternity jeans! It's a waist of money because you may only wear a certain size for a few weeks before buying you have to get a bigger size. I always spend no more than $25 on pants and $20 on tops. They have really cute stuff at Motherhood.

I started wearing maternity pants by 10 weeks because I was so bloated and gassy! I sit at a computer all day for work, so having tight pants was really uncomfortable on my bloated belly!

My sister was awful to me for wearing maternity pants so early but I did it anyway because it made me feel better! There was no point in my going out and buying larger sized pants because the fact is, you will eventually NEED maternity pants...why not buy some now? Wear them if they make you feel more comfortable...no one has the right to tell you when you can or can't wear them!

I started wearing maternity pants pretty quickly. I was pretty nauseas and they were just more comfortable and I was proud to be pregnant.. and when your tummy isn't showing yet, the maternity clothes show you are pregnant. Also I'm only 4'11 and 3/4's so I started showing pretty quickly anyways.. but maternity pants are pretty fashionable now a days anyways. I can't remember exactly when I started wearing them in my first pregnancy.. the first trimester for sure.. but with my third I started immediately.. pretty much.. because of comfort and left over tummy fat from previous pregnancies.. I prefered to look pregnant than to look fat and the maternity clothes shapes your body differently and more flatteringly I think.. than regular clothes when you are pregnant.

I started wearing maternity clothing when I was about 5 1/2 or 6 months pregnant, but it all depends on your body and how fast you gain weight or how slow you gain weight.

I never did, I wore size 7 pants, but just down a little lower with a longer shirt. I am a small girl, I was in a size 5 pant before I became pregnant!

Pants, when they did not fit
Some maternity pants have adjustable waist, which is good for early pregnancy
Tops, between four and five months
Congratulations

I'd say as soon as your regular clothes feel uncomfortable. There's no rule, so just do what feels right.

With my first pregnancy I didn't need them until about 5 months, but every pregnancy after that I started wearing them around 3 months.
