to feel married? I still feel like we are dating or that we are roommates or something. Did you feel a change after the ceremony? Were you madly in love with each other for the first few months until the "honeymoon phase" wore off?

it's when you start think of the person as family. plain and simple. u still may feel like you are dating or in the honeymoon place and that's wonderful but as soon as you think of the person as your family, when something good happens or bad, that's when you feel truly married.

I've been married for about 5 years now and I still don't feel married to my husband. I feel like we're best friends that just happen to have a legal bond to each other. Sometimes when I sit and think about it I get weirded out, like I can't believe I actually am married.

Some people feel a change, some don't. My husband and I actually had some pretty bad growing pains the first year after we got married. We fuoght constantly. Other friends of ours grew closer and others didn't notice any change.

No we always felt in love but had lived together for a year prior to getting married so there was no big fantasy moment just relief that it was over and done with. Wedding can be stressful. My honeymoon phase didn't wear off for 6 years and one child. It was only after he had gone to Iraq that our relationship changed.

It depends- if you were living together before then you might not feel THAT different- if not then you would be experiencing life living toether for the 1st time and that would be a huge change. If you were living together before the "newness" probably wore off already.

That's exactly how I felt and still do. Sometimes I still call him my bf. He does not get it and think calling me his "wife" is cute. But I find much more pleasure as referring to him as my bf. I think when you are dating you fell special and it still feels new. And secretly when I get angry with him now I dream about those days when he would just storm out the door and I would not see him for days (happy times).

I didn't feel any difference. I still don't and have been married since Nov. But, maybe it's because when we were dating we didn't argue but now that we are married that's all we do!

It may take some time for reality to set in... You are married trust me and when it sinks in you should be more happy then ever! Sometimes to me this marriage seems to good to be true!
