Pregnancy is not bad. People tend to ooh and aah over you. And suddenly your hubby will think you are an invalid and want to do everything for you. As for delivery, I'm not gonna lie and say it doesn't hurt but there are plenty of options for pain control these days and you can research them and make an educated decision that suits you. Personally, I thought the labor was the most difficult and not the actually pushing out of the baby. So, if you opt for an epidural, then you won't feel the labor as much. I didn't have anything but Nubane w/ all four of my kids b/c they came to fast, but the Nubane helped me to relax between contractions. Good luck to you and I hope this helps you to tame your fear. Almost every woman chooses to do this to themselves so it can't be all bad.

I never have gotten that, people talking about the pain of pregnancy, or the birth!! First I am 40, had my son at 32, and my daughter at 36!! When I was a little girl I used to ask my mom, does it hurt when you have a baby? and always she would answer it is a beautiful pain!! So while it was confusing it was honest, yea it's gonna hurt, but the pain is well worth it!! For me personally, I got cheated, had to have c-sections, the first one though I did get to experience some of it, and funny thing is I don't remember much at all, I mean I remember having these killer pains, yet I can't remember how the pain felt! I know probably doesn't make sense, and besides did you know that during child birth there is a stage where the mother experiences amnesia?!! Yup, if it were all that bad, and we were allowed to remember it, we probably wouldn't do it ever again!! As far as my pregnancies, well, I swear no one ever told me how bad my boobs were gonna hurt!! Had to wear a bra except for when I bathed!! I had morning sickness for so long w/my daughter, but it was really no big deal, too many pleasant memories, like watching my belly grow, or hell even move when they would get the hiccups!! The constant thrill of knowing I had within me a symbol of the love my ole man and I shared, share and hopefully will continue to share in the future!! Is it a boy or a girl? What do they look like? Oh, I just couldn't wait to meet them, that was the positive about the c-sections, I did not have to wait!! I always wanted 8, like the Waltons or Eight is enough, but because of my age, it would of been dangerous for me to have another child, not so much danger to me, but the child could be born with down syndrome, so I had my tubes done!! But if I could I would, I felt the most beautiful, of course the biggest I had ever been, but it was wonderful, no one doubted I was pregnant!! LOL!

I'm sorry - for some reason every one likes to tell you their horror stories...
I had a supper great first pregnancy, I was under the care of a midwife and birthed my baby at home and yes that means no drugs.
It is uncomfortable and it is hard work and it is crazy that a baby comes from there and it is your baby coming into the world and it is great!
My second pregnancy was uncomfortable becuz I was way out of shape so I got soar like the whole third trimester, I also had her at home with a midwife...
the thoughts on labor and delivery stay the same though.
Just stay positive and don't think or listen to the negative- it's not a walk in the park but usually nothing worth while is.
Go to http://www.yourchildrennaturally and get some good motherly info... look at all the blog articles they help a ton!!

yes it does hurt if you have the baby naturally, thats just a fact. But the pain will be forgotten as soon as you have that baby out and you are so over joyed you dont even think about the pain. I am pregnant with my 3rd child and i know my pain with my first was horrible, but i cant remember exactly how bad it hurt, but i know that i would go through it again and again just to expierence the joy of giving life and to fill my surrondings with happy little voices and early mornings when you just want to sleep in, and sick children and no sleep sometimes, and dirty diapers and a messy house full of toys. Bringing a child into the world is the most life changing thing you can do, so make sure you are prepared. You have to look past the pain and into the future. And make sure that you are ready and have the sources and time and love and money for this child.

No one can tell you how bad your labour or pregnancy is going to be as each one is different and every person has a different tolerance to different things.
But yes at some point during your labour you are going to experience pain. But isn't that what we have drugs for. It the pain gets too bad don't be afraid to ask for some relief. There is no shame in that. Just don't wait too long because after you are 6 cm. They can't do an epidural.
As for the pregnancy talk to you doctor about any concerns that you have during it, they may be able to tell you what each ache and pain is and often times that is enough to stop your worrying or even the pain itself.

I heard horror stories myself my first time around and was told get an epidural so I did I think that was the biggest mistake I made first of all I felt absolutly nothing so I had to be told to push I had no idea how or even why the second time I had a child I decided no epidural cause I wanted to know what I needed to do I wasn't sure if I'd know but your body definetly knows and yes it hurts it felt like my u know what was on fire but I knew what to do and I was fine so I have done it that way ever since and the only way I'd get medicated is if I need a c-section and if you don't do meds your baby is better off.

It is different for everyone. I had a c-section so don't know about the natural way. That wasn't too bad though. I will do it that way next time too! Pregnancy has its ups and downs, but its the most amazing feeling in the world. Its almost strange once the baby is born and you don't have him/her right there every second of every day.
Its a great experience. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Through hundreds of generations of pregnancies, the answer always is: YES it is going to hurt to have a baby. How bad the pregnancy is in regards to sickness, mood swings and the like depends on how well you keep yourself. Remember: getting pregnant was fun but being pregnant and taking care of the child is not. Taking care of the child is a life long thing, the fun ends when the baby is born. You will be that child's parent for the rest of your life... is it a commitment you wish to make?

RELAX...! there is no sense in making yourself all wound up. All women are capable and much stronger than you think. You are built for this, I will not sugar coated, yes, it will hurt but nothing you can't handle. Enjoy your pregnancy and don't stress, the baby can sense that. When the time comes, you will step up and do what is naturally demanded of you, don't think ahead to something that has not happened yet. Be happy, take care of yourself and eat well, go to your appointments...that is what you should think about now. Good luck hon!
