Do the job to the best of your ability - become effective and efficient - be helpful with everyone - your boss will ask everyone:

-what do you think of the new guy?
-how do you get along with him?
-how do the others get along with him?
-can he do the job?
-is he a team player?
-is he a good addition to our team?
-what do you think of making him permanent?

How they answer these questions is totally up to how you perform at work
