Welcome to bureaucracy in action. A bureaucrat should be more worried about working his 8 hours only, not opening the door before 8 am, closing promptly at 4:30 pm, making sure his department is fully funded by spending all his money this year, rather than making sure his department is effective and efficient. Bureaucrats also have to spend time on such worthwhile projects as ensuring no one gets their feelings hurt at work, making sure he has plenty of 'face time' with the director of his department, covering his rear, developing new policy and procedure, and explaining very simple things in moronic detail.
Bureaucrats do not have time to do things like stop their busy work schedule to make sure that things are running right, are effecitve, efficient, complete, on time, and the best product for the money.
I have a little experience. When I first got out of college with a Public Administration degree, I went to work for a state bureaucracy...I hated it. There was no accountability, no fiscal or chronological efficency, just status quo, don't rock the boat, and I can't get fired, I work for the state.
Needless to say, I am in the private sector now.

You better believe they are. Both sides. One huge example is all of the Pork Barrel Projects. These are some fake some real almost all useless projects just so a legislature can say he did something for his district or state. Some of it is so huge like continuing a weapons program that no one in the Armed Services wants. How is that helping the American people?

I think your right on. We should all convert to Libertarianism. Stopping government spending and intrusion into our lives will lower the federal def. and lower our taxes. We need to let the government know who is in charge, THE VOTERS!!!
We need to spread the word as citizens, that we don't want the Democratic way or the Republican way anymore. When they realize that America doesn't like what they've made us they'll change their stance.

Hell yeah. The only thing the government should tax us for is our defense system and our roads and fire department. Everything else should be eat what you kill. But they think that they know whats best for us and that they know how to better use our money. So they take our money and squander it. We should be allowed to keep the money WE worked for and they should keep their hands behind their backs. Maybe it's just me, but I think I know what I want to use my own money for and I don't need some stupid government telling me what do with it.

Yes. I believe the Congress is getting ready to investigate certain instances of alleged waste in government--Hon. Henry Waxman, I believe, is planning to check on the Iraq no-bid contracts given to certain corporations, for example.

Well the Bush Administration did send a plane full of money to help the insurgents in Iraq. Which is a bit of a waste, when he wants to send 21,000 troops to fight them.
