Wheeling WV is adding a HUGE amusement and water park east of it in Triadelphia WV. I would relocate to Bethlehem WV which is a small "safe" suberb of Wheeling. I loved living there myself right out of college. They are building up the area to make for tourist attraction so there will not only be the park but hotels, new restaraunts, they are putting in a mall as well if I remember correctly. The state has a lot to offer single parents as well, not sure of your age or parenthood...? Contact the Wheeling Chamber of Commerce to find out more about this project. Sorry, i don't have their number but is in the "internet" yellow pages. Good luck!

Populous states are your first bets (California, PA, NY). Then there are smaller states that are growing due to their geographic locations (Arizona, certain parts of Florida). The indicator is income per capita of that state. That tells you about the economy but also the standard of living.
