my friend's grandmother is half mexican and people call her a black latina. even some latinos call her that. So is she a black latina or just black like she says?

she knows she is human and she does call herself black. She just wants to know could she call herself a black latina because when she says she is just black her grandmother gets mad.

So one parent is black (like African) and the other is Mexican (brown/indian)? Then she is mixed. Black Latina is appropriate. but if both parents are of African descent then she is a black Hispanic.

But as she calls herself black...I guess she's black.

Well no matter what she says she isn't black. Her grandmother was half mexican so she is denying her grandmother when she says that. She is black and latina... or she can just say I am mixed.

that is not any longer "user-friendly" although that is in no way unusual or exceptional. some human beings nevertheless have stigmas approximately mixed race relationships for regardless of reason. i assume its the comparable reason human beings think of relationships with large modifications in age or height are "unusual" besides. Or it could merely be that some human beings in l. a. are idiots.
