I have an e-mail assignment where I have to quote --> "Construct an email reply to any classmate as a response to a forum post." and also "Include a graphic in the body of the email using Copy and Paste functions in Word (Insert/Picture/ClipArt)."

That second part makes absolutely no sense to me; what does microsoft word have to do with copying and pasting an image into an email?!

My experience is that the sylabus for these courses is poorly written, and I seriously have to wonder if this makes any sense. I did all my reading this week, and *nothing in the reading has to do with MS word. There's a good chance my teacher is out for the weekend.

Thanks Drdangel, I am wondering the same thing, but I'm not sure. Is there something special about copying images from msword as aposed to other sources (I doubt it). I read this week that all emails are 100% text, and that all items (including images) are converted to ASCII characters. I sthere something special about copying from word?

In an effort to learn this for myself, I just tried to copy/paste a clipart from Word into the message box of Yahoo e-mail. The paste button did not insert the clipart, and when I right-clicked the "paste" option was grayed out.

If you find out how to do this without sending it as an attachment, would you please send me a message.

I'm pretty sure you are supposed to cut and paste a picture into the email reply from a word document. You can cut and paste a picture from anywhere. I've had to copy clip art and pictures from word documents and insert them into emails, drawings and pdf files before for presentations. I think the teacher just wants to know how to cut and paste items from different programs into other programs. Just cut and paste an image from anywhere, he's not going to know where it came from.

You didn't mention whether you have Word or not. Your teacher assumes you have Word, apparently.
