LOL sterilization?? uum an IUD maybe, or maybe a cervical cap or a diaphragm. this is something you may want to discuss with a dr or a clinic as these will have to be given to you by them anyway!

Why exclude all of those great options?
You're only leaving the rhythm method which I think is terrible birth control. It's not birth control, it's birth chance.
There are other hormonal birth controls besides the pill, like the patch, the shot and the vaginal ring you can insert. If you're not "excluding" those, they might be a good choice.

I know alot of woman like the ease of the IUD. They can be palce easily and last about 5 years and removed fairly easily as well. If you are not comfortable with this look into the shot or diaphrams and cervical caps are still an option that many woman don't explore any more but are free of hormones if you are wooried about that. Talk with a good and patient GYN for the best options for you but do some research before you go so you will be informed.

Either the shot or the patch that they apparently have now. Carefully look at the side effects of each though because I've heard some bad stuff about the depo shot. For instance, this is unverified (I heard it and didn't look into it because I have no reason to) but a girl once told me that the depo shot is what they use to sterilize some farm animals so they can't get pregnant.

Considering the source was an idiot though, I wouldn't worry about it too much, just make sure you check the side effects.

Look at this website. It has a lot of information on different birth control methods and which work the best. Remember to use some type of birth control that would cut down on the chances of getting an STD.

The Mirena IUD is by far, the best form of birth control. It not only prevents pregnancy (only 1 in 1000 women will get pregnant in 5 years, making it more effective than tubal ligation), it also helps eliminate period symptoms and, in some cases, will end your period entirely. Look into it...you won't be sorry.

Abstinence, by far is the best choice for birth control, if that is impossible, than choose a form of birth control.

Combining withdrawal (but you must follow the rules or else DUH it doesn't work.) and Natural Family Planning (same thing, rules are there for a reason, same as all methods of birth control).

How well does it work in preventing pregnancy? IF

before penetration a man who has recently ejaculated urinates to get rid of any left over sperm.

the tip of the penis is wiped dry of lubricating fluid before penetration

the penis IS withdrawn BEFORE ejaculation

ejaculation occurs outside the vagina and well away from the vaginal opening

THEN
withdrawal has an approximately 80-90% effectiveness rate, or better.
BUT
control is difficult. This last minute method is risky. It offers NO protection from sexually transmitted infections, including HIV; even the pre-ejaculate fluid can contain infection along with sperm

i heard that there is some sort of birth control shot and there is supposed to be a birth control pill for men soon. it does something like reduces sperm count without reducing the volume of ejaculation. me and my ex used the pullout method for 2 years. i wouldnt recommend it though. it ruins the fun and if your guy isnt completely sure of his timing or if he doesnt care then it could be bad.
