I love them both. I find myself checking out BBC America more and more these days but there is plenty of quality stuff on American TV. I am a sarcastic type so I love the britcoms.. I love the campiness of some of thier dramas too. But Heroes, 24, Prison Break and the HBO and Showtime series are all amazing.

So both. call me wishy washy, but good stuff is to be found in both.

Most American shows come from British shows anyways.
Britain on left - US on right
all British shows came first

Man of the House --- Threes Company
Fawlty Towers --- Payne
George and Mildred --- The Ropers
Max Headroom --- Max Headroom
Not the Nine O'Clock --- News Not Necessarily the News
One Foot in the Grave--- Cosby
Steptoe and Son --- Sanford and Son
Till Death Us Do Part --- All In The Family
Who Wants to Be...? --- Who Wants to Be a Millionaire
Whose Line Is It Anyway?--- Whose Line Is It Anyway?
Changing Rooms ---Trading Spaces
and
Pop Idol -----American Idol: The Search for a Superstar
most of the stories were the same as well, line for line. So how can US TV be better. Be original people.

there are quite a few more than these

I prefer American TV shows because I was born and raised in america. Plus I don't get the British sense of humor.

Overall I'd say American. Some of the British humor I just don't get. For example, there's that show, "Keeping up Appearances." The audience is always roaring with laughter and I just find it kind of silly. On the other hand, the British gave us Monty Python, Fawlty Towers, and Coronation Street and there's a lot to be said for those!

Some British and some Americans.
If I really have to pick one: American, British Shows sometimes get too boring to watch.

I love British shows but I can't get many here besides what is on PBS. The comedy is more subtle but absolutely hilarious, like the reruns of Are You Being Served. But, since I can access a wide selection of American TV, guess I will like it best by default.

I like the American television because it's real and it has a lot of good shows. The British television is to hard to watch and have the time doesn't make sense.

I like both, but the thing I like more about British t.v is that the women who are the main characters are not stick thin or it doesn't have to be stink thin per se, but they don't follow the route with their characters' looks like the Americans do and I think that's a good thing, especially in this time when we need to have good body image in order to keep our young girls/boys or even older people body health.
The British are funny; it's subtle, but I think it's all the more funny.

I love British humor, but even the ones they are filming right now look like they were made in the late 1970s with a borrowed video camera.

Boom mikes? Come on!
