He didn't address it when it happened, why would he mention it months later?
And to all you people who say you're sick of it... I hope Karma doesn't come back to you and flood your lives & force your family to live in absolute mayhem and destruction with little to no help from those in power.

I won't say get over it but Florida has seen more hurricanes and more natural disasters in the last 5 years and we weren't mentioned in the State of Union Address. What I really wish is that the resident's that are left in New Orleans and the rest of the State would start pointing fingers towards the officials they re-elected and ask why aren't they getting things done? So easy to get on the Bush doesn't care bandwagon but I really think you should start doing some housecleaning at the local level first.

I'm really not an insensitive person...and I'm so sorry for what happened to New Orleans. But enough is enough - I don't think he had ANY obligation to mention it in his State of the Union Address this year.
This whole New Orleans thing has been beat to death. Just quit complaining and get busy rebuilding!

I've been there. The amount of New Orleans that was worth rebuilding is very small. The rest should have been turned over to environmentalist to be returned to nature.
IF the Democrats (there was a Democrat president and congress at the time) hadn't let the environmentalist doom the flood gate project on Lake Ponchatrain because of some fresh water mussles over 40 years ago. I might feel different.
So I suppose my answer to your question is no.

Let's remember the purpose of this. The "State of the Nation" is the requirement that the President report in to Congress. Not much more than that.
It's the state of the nation. He can't say everything. He picks and chooses and, to be honest, it's just a chance for the president to make a political speech. Nothing more.
So, he chose not to select New Orleans simply because it wasn't something he wanted to talk about. Not important enough to him.
He also didn't talk about Disney World.
Not that I'm defending the President. In fact, quite the opposite.

Very wrong. Even worse, many people, including answerers here, think that Katrina/New Orleans/Gulf Coast is an "old" issue and are "tired" of hearing about it despite the fact that hundreds of thousands of people are still suffering to this day. I guess this situation isn't exciting or dramatic enough for the shallow, soulless masses. Very sad.

with a bit of luck none. Conservatives are ineffective people who think of purely of themselves. heavily nonetheless, how could desire to he no longer blame the a million/2 retarded monkey that ran our united states of america into the airborne dirt and airborne dirt and dust over a span of 8 years. I purely choose Democrats could desire to get issues executed as rapidly as Republicans. Democrats think of issues out and characteristic many diverse concepts that take merely somewhat time to handle. regrettably, all this thinking makes republicans brains harm so as that they choose their acquaintances back in to make the fast stupid judgements. I advise you watch Fox throughout the time of the SOTU, they in all probability won't play it.
