I have been in the Philippines for almost 4 years, total, and adapting to where we decide to live is different in many places here. There are many dialects but many do understand some English. That helps the foreigners that speak English, anyway. Of course it depends on what is meant by adapting, also. Paul, the Apostle would do all to adapt but would not do anything that God would object to. To the Corinthians, he wrote a letter of rebuke for sexual sin in the Congregation that was not dealt with. But when he stayed in a place, he would put on their attire, if not too provocative! So that was Paul's way of adapting, in that he did nothing he felt was wrong that some were doing. In Corinth, at that time, men or women had to be prostitutes for a full year before they could marry! I do not think many of us would want to join them or promote this idea for other places! He rebuked, gently, those who were doing this who were NOT members of the church. But those that were, he said he would judge in the Spirit, if they did not take care of those who were in such sins. One man was sleeping with his fathers wife. He told them he would deliver him to Satan for the death of his flesh so his soul could be saved. See, different circumstances for even a different City and we know there are many colleges in the Philippines with several dialects...
So, the Country one goes to; maybe the City where they will register for college; and the community they will stay in while in college.

A University or College should have an idea of where each Nationality would be better placed in the nearby community. This can include where it is safest, also. The administration could also give a minor rundown on local laws and local customs at sign up! One learns fast what maybe wrong compared to where they lived or what is accepted in their new surroundings. God bless. Earl

Depends on the hospitality n convinience the university provides. If they really seem to squeeze ur feedom n liberty then international students would really get pissed off. Make sure that the environment is enjoyable provided the students maintain disipline.
