When my daughter had a cold, her doctor prescribed Robitussin and told us we could buy it over the counter when the prescription ran out. They should have told you what dose to give her. Also, you can only use ROBITUSSIN DM. Not the CF formula, etc. ONLY DM!

I don't think I would do Robitussin on a child that young call the DR.'s office back ask for a return call from thr DR. Also check with a the pharmasit at your Drug store they will know and often caught Dr. errors on stuff like this.

Yes, they make an Infants Robitussin DM that is perfectly safe to give your 7 month old. I wouldn't give her the adult version or even the children's version. There is a reason they make one for infants.

Yes. I believe they make it for children and or infants though. I wouldn't give her adult Robitussin. It definitely helps a cough. It is also one of the few over the counter dugs that is safe for pregnant mothers. I figure I gave it to my daughter when I was sick and pregnant so it is probably ok now. I don't like to use drugs for them, but there are some instances where they are appropriate. A bad cough is one of them.

You can, but a VERY small amount - you might need to speak to her again to get the dose - it's based on weight. I also wouldn't give it during the day - only at bedtime to get her relief to sleep.
Run a cool mist vaporizer in the house all day - moisture in the air is good. Try letting her sleep in her baby seat - if she gets better sleep that way, she might have a postnasal drip - in which case Robitussin really isn't going to do much anyway.
If the cough is constant or you hear any wheezing or she looks to have problems breathing, she needs to see the doctor right away.

I have twins (21 months) and I've been not to give infants a cold remedy, that they don't work.
I have 3 children and whenever they came down with a cold, running noses, etc... I would give them Tylenol cold for infants, it is designed for children under 2.
I don't trust Robitussin, but that is my opinion.

Yes, you can. And she probably had to get those directions from the doctor before she can pass them on to you.
Better, though, would be to use a vaporizer, and some vick's salve (I like the creamy kind, it isn't so messy). Also, try sleeping in the recliner with your baby to keep the head as upright as possible or raise the end of his/her bed a couple of inches to help the drainage that is causing the cough.
Getting the bathroom all steamy and bringing baby in will help loosen the junk up so the baby can get it out.
Coughing is annoying, but doesn't always need to be medicated.

baby aspirin is a blood thinner. It is NOT a good idea to take it when you're trying to concieve. THe reason people say you should take it, is that it's supposed to make it easier for an egg to implant. But the truth is that it makes it hard for the egg to stick! The blood lining your uterus is thick for a reason.. so that once it implants, it doesn't go anywhere. Don't take it!!!
