I wouldn't' worry about it. I teach at an elementary school in Arkansas - which is not known to be the most liberal of states. In our building alone - we have three teachers with visible tattoos( one male, two female.) Our PRINCIPAL also has one on each of her ankles. I think unless they are offensive or very distracting, no one will say a thing about it. To be safe - cover it when you go for an interview if it will make you feel better. If you do not want to wear stockings - there is a great waterproof cover foundation named Dermablend. It is available at most larger department stores and will cover almost anything. good luck - we need good teachers.

Some countries do expect their teachers to be role models whereby certain act of conduct should be adhered. Yet, if you come from a liberal thinking educators, students and administrators pool, you shouldn't fret unnecessarily or worry too much.
Your bearings and credibilities as a teacher to be should the utmost credentials and not to be overshadowed by a petty tattoo that can be covered by socks.
Trust your your own 'teacher' insights and soar so that you are valued for your merits and not judged by your skin.

Don't worry about it. We have lots of teachers at my school that have small visible tattoos. My principal last year, who is now working in the admin office, has one on her ankle. If they judge you because of that then you don't need to work there. Tattoos are not a big deal.

why create fear of being judged ? if your a good decent likable person that people can appreciate then whats the big deal ?
all though you do bring up a good point as to why you get a tatoo to begin with. they dont come off that easily and when people get them they usually get them when they are caught up in the moment and dont really consider how they might feel about it down the road as they get older. whats done is done, and you are creating insecurity
and fear about being judged which is a problem in and of itself.
not everyones gonna like you,, and some people will judge you by how ya look, how ya dress, ect. ect. be your self and ignore the selfish, ignorant, and judgemental people in the world. God knows the world is full of them and you can't please everyone so stop tring to.

Put cover stick over it. consider having it surgically removed by a professional. Tatoos send a "wild" message about you. Teaching at all levels is a very conservative profession. Even if your viewpoint is unconventional, Learning institutions expect a conservative appearance in their teachers.

I truly don't see a connection between your tatoo and the substance of what you teach. You're killing me.
