It's easy. Mark your calendar with the day you start your period. Then, when you start your next period, mark it again. Count the days in between.

The day your period starts is considered day 1 of your cycle. The cycle ends the day before your next period begins, for example: You started on January 1, 2007 and your next period began on January 29, 2007 that would mean your cycle is 28 days long.

Everyone's cycle is different. "Typical" normal cycles average between 26 and 37 days. The first day of your cycle is the first day of your period (actual flow not spotting). The length of your cycle is the number of days from the start of your period until the start of your next period (day before it starts).

Just keep track of your period start days on a calendar and you will know the average length for you. It does vary.
