It appears that the right seems to be pretty good at warfighting and acheiving tactical objectives. But then once the major surge is over, there is uncertainty. On the other hand, the left is arguing about how things should be fought. But typically the left has been better at helping the "down and out" so to speak. Don't we need both sides working TOGETHER and not bickering to bring a respectable resolution to the Iraq situation?

That is exactly what is needed. You hit the nail on the head. Both parties have many good qualities that are needed in our society. The problem is that both believe that there is no advantage to working with the other for fear that any victory will enhance the others standing in our country thus leading to less ideological effectiveness at the polls. The problem with that is the nation is constantly put at risk by partisan politics. After you have authorized the start of hostilities, you should stand shoulder to shoulder until the conflict is resolved. Presenting a united front works wonders for troop morale, denying safe haven for the enemy in the halls of congress, and directly effects the outcome. Divide and conquer has always been a time honored technique to overcome a more powerful foe. Vietnam forward has shown that it has worked very well for our enemies. But we continuously fall into this most basic fundamental strategy. Putting party and its media lackeys before country will continue to be a major problem as long as we embrace this dysfunctional national family image.

McCain is time-honored with what conflict is! Obama has NO CLUE! a lot as you dont! at the same time as the little boy fingers the bully the lunch funds the bully would not supply up purely supply up if the boy strikes away! he unearths yet another and that little boy is targetted on the recent college. till the bully has his day he keeps and different bullys study from him. i don't love seing the yankee infantrymen being killed any better than you do yet to educate and run contained in the midst of a strive against in hardship-free words makes the different fighter sense better helpful and others see you as susceptible. We experianced this when we left Vietnam for decades. verify your historic past females and gents i'm telling you the reality.

Well.. actually Democrats are very good at war.. we just are slow to be angered to that point.. point-in-case = WW II.... Dem's and Republicans have a different view on how quickly the military should be used.. that's all.. and to be perfectly honest.. right now it looks like we ALL suck at rebuilding a nation.. maybe we should give the job to Germany and Japan.. they seem to be damn good at it.

Good point. This is what it all comes down to. Just like in a business. If employees work together instead of competing against eachother for promotions, the business usually is a lot more successful.

Wouldn't that be nice?

Unfortunately, power corrupts. So it may never happen. And Bush has divided this country more than it has been since the Civil War. It's a hard road back to harmony.

Well, why can't we have the Democrats running domestic policy and the Republicans running foreign policy? They're both bad at what the other does best. Makes sense to me...

Except that GWB is not running foreign policy very well, now, is he?

ayuh, I'd say you're right. Republicans means warmongers. Democrats mean builders. But don't forget that dems or repubs they're all POLITICIANS and/or LAWYERS.

I dispute the idea that Republican are good warfighters IE: Iraq. They really make better shock troops.
