Paris Hilton made Anti-Semitic, racist and homophobic remarks in a video leaked on the internet. I know they were personal videos and made a couple years ago but that doesn't make it right.
Why is it that the media crucifies Michael Richards, Mel Gibson, and Isaiah Washington for the racist homophobic, anti-Semitic, and homophobic remarks they made but won't do the same for Paris Hilton?

Really, I didnt even hear about it. Maybe everyone just excuses her because she is stupid and "pretty" by their standards. I wish that was all over the news

Well, I think there will be a big backlash against Paris now. I'm usually a big fan but this could make me hate her. She may not be that racist because she has been photographed with black celebrities and has gone to P Diddy's parties. However, her best friend or ex best friend, Nicole Richie is like half black and/or adopted by a black man so you'd think the idea of using the n word would make her shudder but apparently it doesn't. And why would she be so homophobic considering she's a gay icon and she has been video taped and photographed kissing girls. And the anti Semetic remarks...well she needs to read about the Holocaust.

I agree its a double standard, even though the other guys are seen as smarter than that. It's like people are saying "Let the dumb ones talk crap, but for everyone else, it ain't cool". I think even the Paris's of this world should be taught to sew their mouths at certain times. If it's inappropriate, it's inappropriate, no matter who says it. Besides, there are so many little girls (and little boys) looking up to Paris, they don't know who Isaiah Washington is, so we have to enforce the message, whether it's from pink glossy lips or not.

I agree with all that say its because we don't expect much in the way of intelligence and insight when it comes to Ms. Hilton like we do from the others you mentioned. No one cares what she says becuase she has nothing to say.
There is a double standard but she wouldn't understand that she did anything wrong if you tried to explain it to her. Just because you have money does not automatically make you classy, smart or better as she is living proof.

Probably because nothing Paris does is shocking anymore. I would actually hate to be in her shoes. All that money isn't worth the reputation she has. Just think: When she gets old and gray, and looks back on her life, there will be nothing worth smiling about. All she'll be able to say is, "I had fun." That's sad. I'd rather have my sanity than be rich.

The only reason I can come up with is that everyone knows that Paris is her own worst enemy and people probably think that because of the stupid stuff that she does, then maybe she doesn't know that her remarks were wrong.

In this case there does appear to be a double standard. Why is she not being called out for these comments? I think one reason is that she is a woman and people dont take her that seriously.

well it is diferent....Mel for example is deemed more intelligeent and worldy after making the passion of the Christ movie and defending that it wasn't anti Semitic then to go and make anti Jewish remarkes kinda makes one wonder
Paris on the otherhand.. well no one expects much out of her aside from antics

She's useless in the entertainment world.
She can't act....her singing...well she can hold a tune..thats it!
She famous for being a hoe and rich!
