Sure Mario has a lot more games than Sonic but the games that Sonic does have are a lot cooler. Plus if you compare the graphics between the games that Sonic was first in compared to those of Mario, Sonic was more advanced. Super Mario Bros had to wait until they were remade for younger Nintendo platforms in order to get cooler backgrounds while Sonic already had moving backgrounds and 3D on the Genesis.
Sonic has also been more diversified into TV shows and PC learning games.
I do admire Mario though. He's always got the Princess' back and likes his veggies. Still Sonic collected beautiful gems. A mushroom can't stand up to that.

It's gotta be Mario.
Mario has sold every system of Nintendo since the 80's and Nintendo is STILL one of the best systems out there.
Sonic sold a few sega's, but where are they now.
Mario all the way.

I would say Sonic, but I enjoy Super Mario more...plus the Sonic game universe is very...boring....
