I guess you mean HOW can it be avoided? The only 100% way is abstinence. If you feel like you HAVE to have sex, then make sure you are on a hormonal birth control and that the guy is wearing a condom. If you forget any pills, then you need to either A.)not have sex for the rest of that month until you start up a new pack B.)keep the morning after pill on-hand or C.)check into a hormonal birth control that is not in pill form (i.e. the patch, the implant, the vaginal ring, etc) If you are in high school asking this question, I will tell you from personal experience that abstinence is your best choice. An extremely small percentage of high school relationships last beyond graduation, and an extremely high percentage of sexual relationships become gossip news for everyone to talk about. Think about it before you put yourself out there to get hurt.

Your question doesn't make sense. WHO can teen pregnancy be avoided? Or do you mean HOW? If how, then the easiest answer is to not have sex. Of course, that's unrealistic, so teenagers need to realize that birth control exists and is much easier to deal with than an unwanted pregnancy. Also, parents should play a role and teach their kids more about the dangers of sex (not just pregnancy, but STD's). It might not prevent their children from having sex, but at least they'll know how to have safe sex.

That is a scary question, and despite what's been said, a pretty normal and obvious concern. As a mother (our daughter is 6, we're ok for a while, sigh) - my main thing to do is read to our daughter in simplistic terms (good books for her age) and intend to keep lines of communication open. THAT is key. She needs to trust me and know that I'll be here for her to talk to, even if she were to want to have sex as a teen (saying it makes me ill and I hate the thought), I want her to know how to protect herself from not only pregnancy, but from the abundance of disease out there. I cannot stand on some pedestal and act perfect, because I wasn't, however, I can talk and talk and talk some more with her, get her listening now, because it might be harder later. I want to keep my baby girl innocent as long as possible. So my best suggestion is EDUCATION on the subjects. Break out some pictures of unwed teen mothers, look online for some 'horror' stories of how these 'kids' who had kids felt about their lives afterwards. Geez, as an adult it is hard to do, imagine what a teenager must feel like - homecoming, prom, etc. Those things aren't happening if you have a little one at home - education might even come to a halt which is so so bad. I am just babbling away but I think you get my point: Talk to the teen, educate them, work it in a scenario they would easily understand, and then -- LISTEN.

it can be avoided by using birth control and condoms if u are in relationship u Can use birth control and there are some many options that no one should really be with out it i am 17 and i have been on birth control since i was 14 and last year it hurt me to see my friends in school and my sis to get pregent because most of these girls are not think about it when they are heaving sex and they need to cause once is all it takes and you can not take it back that is something that you will have to live with for the rest of your life and it is free so why not take the chance you have nothing to lose and you don;t have to worry about when u are going to get your period. but 1st u should talk to your doctor so u can find something that is write for you. i hope that i have helped and even if u don't want to get on birth control u can get a diaphragm not as affected but better safe then sorry please write me back and let me know how thing go god bless Melanie

Abstinence is the only 100% effective way to prevent pregnancy. Even the pill and condoms can not make that claim. The pill can be forgotten or made in effective by things like anti-biotics and other meds. Condoms break or have holes or even spill if not removed properly. you can even get pregnant through your clothes. If you are not in a mature, monogamous, married relationship, you are not ready for sex. until that happens you don't have the means or moral support to take care of a child.

Well the first and most obvious answer is not having sex at all; that 100% guarentees you won't get pregnant or get a nasty STD. The next option would be to combine birth control and proper condom use; it is imperative that you be absolutely rigerous with both. Taking your pill late or not using a condom even once can lead to pregnancy.

If you meant to say "How can teen pregnancy be avoided"....the answer is simple. Don't have sex!!! Or if you must give into your raging hormones.....use condoms, get on the pill, etc.... Your best bet is to wait until you are ready to accept the consequences of sex.

Your question needs to say How. You know the answer NO SEX
If you are having sex there is always a chance if you want to have sex slim your odds by being on the pill AND using condoms.
Sometimes the Truth isn't the answer you want to hear.

You mean "how" it can be avoided? Perhaps teens should first avoid sex. I can give each of them a promise that they won't get pregnant if the don't have sex.
