If you are shopping in places like value city, tj maxx, or any other major dicounted store... then it so that the actual retailer who's brand of clothes it is knows not to take the clothes back as a return or exchange... because it has been shipped out to a discounte store.

Probably because they were purchased at an outlet store. Brand name items sold through outlet stores often do not meet the quality standards. There may be defects that you are not aware of, for example, wrong measurement. Therefore they cannot carry the brand label as if they are perfectly good items.

If you bought them in a discount store, some manufacturers require that the labels be blacked out or cut out so no one will know they were purchased at a discount. Can't have poor folks wearing fancy clothes now, can we? LOL
