I think it is getting worse and I am more concerned than ever. Equipment is breaking down faster than it is being replaced. Some of our soldiers are on their 3 or 4th tours in Iraq with hardly any break in between. Some of the horrors they have seen are not being discussed with mental health professionals, suicides among our troops are increasing. The soldiers are being sent back with 40% of the equipment required. Now they are to help referee a civil war. The NIE says it is going to get worse. They need to get out

Your question should read:

Worse. The last 4 months were the worst by far since the war started. It is a Civil War and it's going to get worse and throwing more american troops in harms way is not going to make things better.

I guess the new strategy of increased air cover, and stronger enforcement of law and order on the streets will work in favour of the American occupation troops in the SHORT term. But may just be the calm before another storm... who knows?

I don't know. I haven't been over there and since my niece left there, I don't find out things any more. I am sure that what we hear on the network news is only a partial account. They deliver what they want you to hear, not the whole truth.
