They constantly try and project this image as being for the little man but there actions says otherwise their spokesmen rant about global warming and pollution but fly all over the world on their private jets. They talk about raising the minimun wage but the speaker excempt American Samoa because the companies that are base there are from her district.

They complain that the IRS, FEMA, SS are inefficient and wasteful government agency are but are eager to take over a quarter of the US economy with a national health care buracreacy.
why will this program be more effecient? The speaker now wants the pentagon to supply her with a fancy jet with a crew of 16 so she can fly non-stop to SF. Why is this party basic premise do as say not what I do.

Hey G good response but I have to dispute some of your supersitions.

First our politicians can always fly first class on commercial jets or charter the plane. The speaker of the house before Nancy Pelosi had a 16 passenger jet why is she so special? The minimum wage increase is a scam it is basically a payoff to american unions because many of their contracts are tied to the minimun wage, but many democrats thing that americans are too ignorant to understand their motivation.

The republicans can be 2 face sometimes but they usually don't insult your intelligence

what politician is NOT two faced and deceptive?? It runs through every party. They're all just trying to get votes. Stop being a closed minded idiot and see the light. The moment you start seeing through all the lies cast by all political parties - you'll be quite enlightened.

first, let me say this... you actually do raise some decent points... and unlike many on here... you supported your ideas with things that are actually going on in the world... so, good job on that...

but let's take a second and look at what you said... one of the first issues you mention is "flying all over the world in private jets"... as far back as I can remember... politicians have been doing this... and I don't want to make an excuse, but what choice do they have?

they have needs to get to many areas around the U.S. and around the world... should they just take Delta? is that even safe for them? probably not... in fact, quite unsafe... and many flights are delayed, diverted and have more than one stop... which would only waste our Representatives' time...

or should they just not go anywhere? not do any trade deals? not worry about their home state that they represent and only stay in Washington? if they did that, they wouldn't be doing their job... this issue doesn't seem to be logical, because I don't see what other choice they have, if they are going to do their job in a timely matter?

the second issue you raise is the minimum wage, which does look bad... but the thing is... I don't think Samoa has ever been subject to our minimum wage laws, because they have an island economy that is vastly different than the U.S. economy... the cost of living there is much lower overall than almost anywhere in the U.S. that I know of, so there isn't a need, like there is here... it's really a basic economics question... it would effect a large percentage of the Samoan population, but a low percentage of the American population... which would affect the economies in VASTLY different ways...

I've never really heard liberals complain that much about the IRS and SS (maybe some, but not the majority)... and only say the leadership of FEMA is ineffective, not the program its self?

and the real issue about health care is... it's costs are growing at a rate that America simply can't keep up with... grown much faster than the rate of inflation or pay increases over the past 7 years and more and more Americans have lost insurance, due to the costs... and the trend looks like it's not stopping... so, do we ignore it, or try and fix the problem... there may be other solutions other than universal health care... and I am open to exploring them... but something needs to be done, because the free market system is failing in health care...

and lastly... the last speaker of the house also had a plane... and I DON'T REMEMBER ANY DEMOCRAT EVER SAYING HE SHOULDN'T HAVE IT? so how is that "do as I say, not what I do?" we never said they shouldn't have a plane? she did ask for a larger jet so she wouldn't have to stop... and they can deny the request if it's not feasible...

and, as we've already covered, it may be needed, unless you have a better plan of how they can get around the world and do their job?

I think we've touched on all the issues here and while they may not be perfect... you're gong a little overboard saying they are two faced and deceptive, based on the reasons you listed...

It's not just Democrats. It's politicians in general. It is easy to find hypocrisy in both parties.

Look at the Republicans, when they were voted into power in Congress over 10 years ago, they promised to end corruption and many other promises. They also said they would not run for re-election if they did not fulfill the promises. They failed to keep almost all of the promises and yet still ran for re-election.

The Republicans talk about fiscal responsibility, but this administration (with the help of the Republican controlled Congress) has borrowed more money than every administration before it. The national debt is higher than ever and we're in hock to China, Japan and several other nations.

Open your eyes to the reality that neither party is doing it right and anyone who can only bad mouth one side or the other is a fool who doesn't look at the facts and doesn't use the brain God gave them.

Don't forget about John Kerry talking about being against pollution because of global warming, but his sole means of transportation is an SUV.

Just like the Republicans, the democrats are more concerned with their big money corporate donors and not pissing them off. Just like Republicans, they see the electorate as just as source of votes, not as something to be beholden to.

Well, if we are becoming that way, it is because we have to learn to fight fire with fire. In other words, we have learned to use the same tactics as the Republicans.
