I would make sure to spend some time with my partner - they are obviously sending me a message that they need some alone time.

Now if they NEVER wanted to do anything as a family I would ask them openly and honestly what the trouble was with spending time as a family. But every couple does need some time alone together.

I'd say you have plenty of family time. Cherish the fact tat he wants some alone time with you. I'd say you'd be asking a pretty similar question if he wanted to watch the movie with the kids and not you. This does not mean he doesn't like your kids, he just wants to spend some time with the woman he loves.

They have a point, and they have a right to some couple time. They're not asking you to make a permanent choice; they're asking for some alone time with you, and that's a perfectly reasonable request. Be happy they want some time with you. Put the kids to bed and rent a movie you wouldn't dare show them!

Send the kids out to play or put them to bed, depending on what time it is, and watch a movie together. Remember they are your kids not your partners, so it is not up to your partner to keep them occupied. I go through this every other weekend with my partner, it's not easy for us.

It's nothing against your kids, they probably just want to watch an adult movie with the one they love. Put the kids to bed after playing the them, and spend one on one time with your partner, seems thats what they want. They seem like they love you very much, and just want to spend time with you, and it's nothing against the kids. Have fun!

If your partner is ALWAYS saying this you have to make sure they know that its not just you... you do have a family that they need to know if they plan on being there a while. Buuut if the two of you having alone time is rare... you need it. Yall need an equal balance. Good Luck Sweetie Pie!

I am sure that your partner just wants some alone time with you. Relationships need that every once in a while.

It sounds like your pretty attatched to your kids, as any parent would be. I suggest maybe putting them to bed early (obviously if they are old they might be a bit more reluctant!) but if you can then it will allow you to have a nice snuggle on the couch with your partner :) and hey, enjoy it =]

You seperate time, sometimes. Most time is family time. But there is a place for 2 adults to have some time alone, also.
