Pretty people? Yeah, sort of. They want people who have a pleasant appearance. That doesn't mean that you need to look like a model. You can be rather "plain," you can be somewhat overweight, etc. However, you need to be someone with combed hair, clean clothes, and so forth. If you're sloppy, that won't go well for you.
To work at a front desk, you need to be cheerful and pleasant. You need to have a good and clear speaking voice. You need to be able to remain calm and professional, even in the face of verbal abuse. You need to be honest.
Let those things come through. Dress professionally, although you needn't be stuffy. Smile. I can't stress that enough.
Which Marriott brand? If it's a higher end hotel, they're going to be "pickier" than a lower end one. At a JW Marriott, the standards are higher than, say, at a Towneplace Suites.
I am a frequent customer of mid-range Marriott hotels. I can tell you that I'm frequenly impressed by the staff. The reason: they're friendly, but not overly so. They respect the reason I'm at a hotel (be it business or pleasure) and offer me the level of service that someone staying in a hotel needs. They smile. They listen. They're efficient! That's important. And, yes, they look nice. Again, that doesn't mean that they are models. But they have combed hair, their clothes are neat, they don't slouch.
Let that come through.
Good luck.

If you have a second interview you've obviously made quite a good impression on them. I've never seen anyone working at the front desk of a Marriott that rated anything less than average looking, so yes, they look for "pretty" people. However, they're more interested in your personality and your communication skills. If you're friendly, cheerful, outgoing and can express yourself well, you're well on your way to getting that job. You don't need to know much about working in a hotel to get the job because they'll train you, but you should know how to answer a phone. If they ask you how you would answer the phone, it should sound something like this: "Good morning, Denver Marriott Tech Center, this is Candace speaking, may I help you?" P.S.: If they ask you the dreaded "Why should we hire you?" question, be sure to say you know there are a lot of top-notch people applying for this position, but what sets you apart is (fill in the blank). You'll need to sell them on the attributes you have that will interest them like being a people-person, being able to learn tasks quickly, a high level of motivation, dependability, honesty, etc. Good luck!

You must approach the human resources development manager at the hotel with a prior appointment with him over the telephone and carry your resume with a passport size photograph, social security card, past experience with letters on their letter head from previous emplyers for the work carried out in your earlier employment.
It takes time to get to the humand resources mangagers desk as they are usually very busy hiring people, be at his desk half an hour before, Go with a prior Appointment and normally they are located in the section where suppliers entrance to the hotel.
So just ask the HRD manager about his office location, he'll guide you the directions.
Pray to God, His Almighty is the provider and helper, have Faith in God, Be calm, be patient hear the mangaer talk fully before you reply him. Answer to the point.
In the end don't forget to ask him about his employing your prospects.
