Besides the scientific proven fact that meat is, beyond the shadow of a doubt, not good for our health, nor our spiritual wellbeing, do we really think we possess the God-given right to take the life of a helpless innocent animal, purely for the satisfaction of our palate? In God’s eyes all living entities are created equal, and there is ultimately no spiritual distinction except for the material body, the outward dress of the soul.
The greed-driven meat industry and so-called educated class of covetous people want you to believe that unless you eat meat you’re missing out on important vitamins and/or proteins. Nothing could be further from the truth. It is mainly due to our conditioned upbringing in a meat-eating family environment where our parents taught us from birth that meat is an indispensable part of our diet. So in that sense we’re not to blame, because of the imposed ignorance by our elders.
Through well crafted TV commercials and bill board ads, we are brainwashed and forced to think we cannot live without meat. Which in actual reality is dead rotting flesh with added chemicals to make the meat look attractive. As soon as an animal is slaughtered, its flesh begins to putrefy, and after several days it turns a sickly gray-green. The meat industry masks this discoloration by adding nitrites, nitrates, and other preservatives to give the meat a bright red color, and give it longer shelve life. This decaying flesh, along with its preservatives, continue to make our lives extensively miserable by causing dreadful invasive diseases like cancer and malignant tumors, etc.
Once we’re properly informed about these ‘hidden’ truths, it takes only a little smarts to figure out what these lowlifes are up to, and after—your money! We can only reasonably assume that these crooked people don’t have our best interest in mind. So for our own sake and well being, being largely innocent victims of circumstances, we better wake up, and change our eating habits. Plus, can all these distinguished people be wrong? http://www.happycow.net/famous_vegetarians.html

Eating too much meat is bad, but your body needs meat. It has proteins and iron that your body needs. Fruits and vegetables are good, but they never fill you up for very long it's because they are missing some key ingredients. Meat also has complete amino acids that the body needs for maintenance and growth. Many people cut meat out because it can have a high fat content and is more expensive. But meat processors are doing a better job on providing "Lean" Meats, so if you are trying to watch your fat intake buy a meat that is 70/30 or 80/20 (this will be labeled on most ground meats) the lower the second number the lower the fat content. But be careful that you don't go too low because other wise the meat is going to taste awful because there is no fat to keep it moist while cooking. And although we all hate fat it does provide most of the flavor in any food substance.

Eating meat is not at all bad if you eat the right meat. Our body needs protein and if not getting it from meat we need to eat "soft" cheeses such as camembert, fetta, brie etc, just incorporate a bit into our diets each day along with eggs - 2 or 3 each day. Cage hen eggs are full of chemicals, eat organic/barn laid, scrambled, poached or lightly fried in olive oil. Lamb is very good - organic or non-organic because it is a grass fed animal. Organic chicken is best as contains no antibiotics and hormones like non-organic. Beef is ok in moderation - Id have it once a week and not too much. Protein is the essential thing in all this, vegetarians eat more eggs and cheese to compensate for the meat factor. If you like lamb and chicken have it. Have your main meal during the day and have a light meal early evening.

I would not go so far as to be judge mental and label the eating of animals to be good or bad. That is not my place to do so. We are all free to eat as we wish.
However, we all know that things rot and deteriorate for a reason. Leaves in the forest do it to support new life. etc etc
I just do not think that the concept of something rotting in my digestive system until is in condition to be absorbed through my Large Intestinal tract is to the benefit of my health!
Just not a great idea is all. For me. I do not answer for you.
The only time meat eating is bad, per se, is when the animal giving its life for us is treated in an inhumane fashion. Since most animals in the Western world are so treated, that is where I say it is bad. Ever seen films on chicken farms or pork farms? Ever seen how veal is created? For the majority, the conditions of the animals is criminal.
I still am not a meat eater because of the putrefecation factor.

Many religions have different beliefs on meat. And many people have their own beliefs about whether eating animals is cruel. It's not necessarily that meat is bad, it's just what people think.

It's not. Everything is here for a reason, and meat, is here for eating! I don't think that cows, and duck, and things like that are meant here for anything else, but cows are also made for milk.
