Frankly, I had a friend who had sex with a female teacher from 13 to 16 -- it did him no harm and it did his ego a world of good.

I really think we need to rethink these things in general. For males sexual peak is 18. For females its 35. Having the same age of consent for males and females is insane.

I happen to be gay -- but regardless, I knew what I wanted and was ready for it the moment I had pubic hair. I didn't wait, I found someone at 14 (maybe a late 13, its been a while, but within a few weeks of my 14th birthday, anyway) -- but it was stupid that I should have had to worry, or that he should. It was stupid that Pat should have had to worry, or that the teacher should have. We both were perfectly capable of knowing what we wanted, and we were happy to get it.

Once males have pubes they really are ready to make sexual decisions (not maturely, and if they are straight with older women those women should take up responsbility for preventing disease and babies frankly, while if they pick an older male [I didn't, I was with another boy my age] then that man should be responsible for disease prevention] but they are ready, and I cannot imagine, other than forcible rape, how anyone could take advantage of them. They sure couldn't have of me, or Pat, or any male friend I had (I was immensely popular all the way through Jr high/HS -- so that was lots of people).

Maybe, just maybe, someone in the justice system realizes that the boys WANT THE SEX, and at least cuts the woman some slack. I think boys should be allowed to consent from puberty on personally -- as I thought when I myself was barely in puberty -- and even before; but I'm sure that will shock the lights out of some people -- sorry if it does. It is however, my honest opinion. I wouldn't have traded sex at that age for anything, nor would Pat, nor most of our male friends.

We still have a double standard in society about sex. We believe that good girls shouldn't have it when they're young but that boys are studs if they lose their virginity at a young age. We still have this idea that a woman having sex with an underage boy is almost a rite of passage for a boy, that boys often lose their virginity to women who are more... experienced. So when the women get caught the crime isn't seen as severely. Instead of it being taking advantage of the boy it's seen as doing him a favor, making him a man.

With girls since they're "not supposed to" have sex until they're older if an older man does anything with her its seen as taking advantage of her. According to society he wasn't doing her any favors by sleeping with her.

If you mean a male teacher having sex with a male student, well I think we all know the amount of homophobia around. So the man gets punished double. Once for statutory, and once for having sex with another male, because you know that the case is going to be viewed through a homophobic lense.

I was thinking something similar this morning. That female astronaut who went nuts on some other woman and drove in diapers so she didn't have to stop to beat her up. Now she is in jail waiting managble bail but you know darn well if she had been a man going after the woman, the man would be held without bail and the punishment would be more severe. At least thats how I see it. Double standards.

I messed around with one of my high school teachers, and luckily niether one of us got caught. I was very much in love with her. The reason the teacher goes to jail is because usually the student is underage, if the student is NOT underage, well the teacher may not go to jail, they just can't teach anymore. It's supposedly the teachers fault because their the "adult" and should know better, but sometimes you just can't help it, because your in love. Good luck girl!

because a woman instructor should be mature adequate to do not forget that some day at the same time as the boy has matured he ought to remorseful about this. She is taking good thing about a teen, it really is an extremely irresponsible element to do! youngsters are going to imagine that is cool to do something like that, I mean they have the interior connection on the instructor, the guy that partly makes a call their destiny for faculty, solid grades, all that.

Everyone knows the world is a sexist place. The men usually benefit in the other sexist areas, though. Payback is a beeyatch.

Double-standard. And they do serve jail time, just not nearly as long as men.

i agree, there is a ridiculous doublestandard in society. we often preach equality between men and women, but we still have a long way to go. this is just one of many examples..
