The best times to test are between 11am and 3pm and 5pm and 10pm. If you want to make sure that you catch your LH surge, you may want to test twice a day, once in the earlier time frame and the other in the later time frame. Please keep in mind that while you may have the initial surge of LH earlier in the day if testing via blood tests, you will not get a positive result on the ovulation test until 4-5 hours later when the surge actually reaches your urine. Be sure to test at the same time each day.
As far as what cycle day to start testing...it depends on how long your cycles are. You should use the length of your shortest cycle in the past six months as a starting time.
CYCLE LENGTH=START DAY
21 = 5
22 = 5
23 = 6
24 = 7
25 = 8
26 = 9
27 = 10
28 = 11
29 = 12
30 = 13
31 = 14
32 = 15
33 = 16
34 = 17
35 = 18
36 = 19
37 = 20
38 = 21
39 = 22
40 = 23
41 = 24
42 = 25
If you have any idea of when you ovulate you can adjust accordingly.
Another major indicator that ovualtion is approachin is the presence of slippery egg-white cervical fluid. Many women can also have lotion like cervical fluid before ovulation. A general lube/wet feeling means you are getting ready to ovulate.

My fiance and I bought ovulation kits with our second pregnancy thinking this would speed up the process because we are getting married in April. We bought the most expensive to the least expensive and we followed them exactly. We tried for 5 months and nothing happened it was devastating every time my period came. We decided to stop trying and just if it happened it happened the month we stopped we got pregnant. So my advice is to not try and when we talked to our doctor she advised me to not try as well. So don't do anything try not even to think about it if you can and it will most likely happen faster than with an ovulation kit.

Usually a woman ovulates 2 weeks before her next period is due. Read the instructions that came with the tests and check out some of the websites mentioned. Babycenter has a good one to get you started.
Good luck.

The ovulation stick is deisgned to attempt once you're ovulating and does no longer supply fantastic reuslts for a being pregnant diagnosis. i might want to purchase an easily being pregnant attempt to attempt for this. those that allow you already know the way some distance alongside you're are frequently very precise! i counsel one of them :-) sturdy success
