As a cricket fan, i was watching South Africa VS Pakistan yesterday and wanted to see how other teams are prepared for the world cup. South Africa had some big hitters but i have to admit, Shahid Afridi is the best (and thats coming from an England fan). I know we have pieterson and flintoff but i honestly think that they are not in the same league as Afridi. People say Afridi is on form and heading into the world cup next month, he could prove to be a massive probelm for us if we are drawn against Pakistan in the next round. We need to train more people trained in the way boom boom afridi - do you think that is logical?

Yeah! man that's absolutely true.
If Afridi gets going then there is no one really who can stop him,but he certainly will have to play sensibly and show some responsibility.
Afridi can really be a WMD,the only problem is that he will have to increase his consistency with the bat.

Shahid Afridi has FREAKISH talent. Just ask Glenn Mcgrath, one of the best bowlers of all time, he was hit for 24 off one over when Afridi was hitting YORKERS for 6!!! There is simply no way of stopping him when he's on fire, and the damage he does is ENORMOUS. Jayasuria played possibly his best cricket in the 1996 world cup, leading Sri Lanka to victory with several quick-fire half-centuries. Lets face it, a player like Hussey and Inzamam are champions in the way that they have brilliant averages, but they dont have the ability to single handedly destroy a team with a hundred of 37 balls!!! The way I see it, if Afridi can play half as well as Jayasuria did in the '96 world cup, it will take a great performance from all of the teams to knock Pakistan out!! GO BOOM BOOM

Shahid Afridi is basically a hard hitting batsman and not a class batsman with sound techique. That is the reason why he is not at all consistent. He only sparkles occsionlly. What any team should look for is not that unpredictable type of player, but a player with sound techique and class who can play defensively as well as score briskly depending upon the circumstances

the differance is that most batsmen bat and afridi hits, sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt, given the choice i would rather have a bowler who has little pressure with the bat play an afridi role for england and see pieterson and flintoff do some sensoble batting and using their power to great effect with clever shot selection and strokeplay.

If Afridi gets going then the guy is stunning but like many players he is vunerable early doors. Pakistan are a legit side in the World Cup, more legit than us but he'll have more low scores than super high ones!

shahid afridi is really hard striker but i think due to over confidence he fails or may be due to more aggression
