people in these factories can't write, therefore you should give a blank piece of paper to your teacher!
Thanks God for these poor children otherwise the price of Nike shoes would be ridiculous!

The brands you mention don't operate these factories directly. They buy from factories that are run by very tough managers.
As others said, these kids have no education (which means they have no idea what globalization means), forced to work long hours under dangerous and unhealthy conditions, fed just enough to work, and are treated by the adult supervisors as slaves (no dignity). They are usually running scared all day long. Their child innocense about the world doesn't exist. Perhaps the worst part of this is these kids grow up to become mean supervisors.
Usually their parents (if there are any) send their children to these factories to help the rest of the family so their brothers and sisters have more to eat.
There is nothing glorious about what you are writing. Close your eyes and imagine yourself in that condition and realize how scared and hopeless you'd be. Then you can start writing.

One of the major problems concerning child labour, is that all too often, the families of the children working in the sweat shops, rely heavily upon the small incomes which these children earn.
This is not an argument in favour of child labour. I am simply trying to explain why it goes on and just how difficult it is to erradicate.
If a well known company is employing child labour, then it is up to the cusomers of the company concerned to boycotte their goods if they feel strongly about this.
Unfortunately, most of us are blind to the problem of child labour and slavery; we just want cheap goods. China, it is said, has something like ten million slave workers, mainly prisoners both political and criminal. Most of the cheap Chinese goods on sale in the West are made by slave workers.
Perhaps we should act and not just speak on these issues. It's like the old saying, "the road to Hell is paved with good intentions." We all 'intend' to do something, but often fail in this regard and so the problem continues.
Sorry, but cannot give you any websites on child labour. I'm slowly working my way through the slave trade here in UK. It is almost too shocking to bear thinking of, most especially when people you were tought about at school were said to be such heros. I now see these people in a completely different light. I am also aware that the entire cost of the Industrual Revolution in England and Wales was actually borne by monies made from the Slave Trade. It just gets worse.

Im afraid your school defeats the whole purpose to WHY these children are working in factories.
Im not being rude believe me but here is an interesting thing you might want to do, it'd be original I'll tell you that much.
Present a blank page to your class and say THIS is what the child would send home. MOst children if not ALL children working in these factories have to work so young that they can't afford to go to school and are therefore illeterate :D
If u want to use this im sure you'd get good marks just make your speech passionate okay? :D and show some notes or whatever to your teacher to show that you actually HAD done work :D
good luck and remember BE UNIQUE!!!!!!

The blank page is a fantastic idea. It is truthful and makes a statement.
Be sure to have facts, with reference info, that back up a child laborers inability to write a letter. Attach it behind the blank page.

Forget the Internet and websites.
Sit down and put yourself in these children's situation.
How would you feel working 80 hours for £10. ($19.)
Well done for your question, it may open up discussion with regard to company's who exploit child labour for the sole reason of making profit.
Hope this helps.
