No, it really isn't anyone's business what one's political views are. But if one is asked or invited to share their philosophies then it's their right to do so. Everyone involved in a political discussion, however, must remember to be respectful of the opinions of others. We need to cordially agree to disagree. Hearing an opposing viewpoint can be a real eye-opener.

No, it really isn't anyones business. However, it makes for interesting debate, doesn't it? It is said there are two subjects that should never be discussed; religion and politics... I think that old adage is still around because they are the two most volatile subjects....
Personally, I enjoy intelligent debate with people who have a clue. Many people just run off at the mouth and it is quite obvious they don't know what they are talking about and have no unbiased input in their gathering of information. They only listen to what they want to hear and read only what they want to see.

It is only someone else's business if you open your mouth to express your opinion. That being said, my mother always told me that two subject to never bring up: religion and politics. These subjects will always bring out a heated debate, especially when someone is not well versed in the subject (has studied it and actively takes part in it- not just what they were raised to believe).
So it depends on whether you are having conversation with a willing participant and if you want it to turn into a debate, because, most people will not change their opinion so readily (if they have a true opinion).

no...which is why I like this forum. I can argue until I am blue in the face, and know that I am not doing it with anyone I know or love. So there is no holding back. In general, I NEVER discuss politics outside of the forum, as I am a person who enjoys my social life, and likes to have a good time. And trying to convince someone to see your ppoint of view is not the same as denying them THEIR point of view, nor is it mandating that they SUPPORT your point of view. I think it is necessary for people to see all sides before making a judgment, and in order to have an open debate. I wish everyone felt that way ;)

I don't think so. I mean my views are my business and your views are yours. You have to respect people's views, regardless if they match yours or not. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Voicing your opinions and views on politics is your choice. If you feel that you need to put your input in on a particular subject, then do it. But don't try to convince others that you are right and they aren't. Take in their opinion and respect it, whether you agree or not. Fighting about politics is a never ending battle...neither side can win because everyone has different moral standards. Take it in and respect what they have to say...its their own opinion.

We are given the illusion of a choice between two party's, but the truth is that they are all secretly working together toward their own agenda. That would be global occupation. I am not political, this being because I still believe I am a free man. So regardless of what laws they pass to break the constitution apart, I will fight till the death for my freedoms. I'm am a patriot, but the Government calls me a terrorist. Another crappy clause in the Patriot Act. I have a copy of the Declaration Of Independence and will never follow the U.N.s Constitution.

It's only your business when a debate or discussion is entered into with everyone agreeing to be a part of it. Shoving your political ideas down someone's throat when they don't want to be a part of what you have to say is completely different.

Only if you articulate those views in public. Take me.. I cannot complain that my political views are subject to ridicule by the neo-cons because I frequently air them on these boards.
I just wish those who are diametrically opposed to those views had a sensible, coherent argument to put forth instead of insults. But I live in hope.
