Lots of good A's! If it's something that's inhitibiting your life and these other ways aren't helping, another avenue is therapy. There are lots of different methods--one that I found is the most successful is psycho-drama! I think that this is the only truly American construct in mental health, created by Zerka Moreno and her husband. I got to take a wks' training session with her and experienced the change process myself! The condition is some trama that our mind/emotions are trying to remedy--but only replay the event. Psyco-drama is actual replaying the event with others in the drama and CHANGED the way one thinks/feels it should have been into a kind of "mind-reality". I think that our LIMBUS brain can't tell the difference between things that actually happened, from the event being REPLAYED, which brings positive feelings and outcomes for the person. It's as if the original event has been changed and you've FELT the joy and satisfaction and therefore, it is OVER! And your life can go on dealing with new conflicts/dramas and joys!

Yes and no, sometimes I have the ability to push issues and problems aside and live life and other times I am beside my self with panic. I think the more important question to ask yourself is not WHY things happen but WHAT? You see, as long as your breathing, life dosn't stop happening to anybody.Problems happen and compound. The question is WHAT can you do with these expirences to turn negitives into positives, to turn fear into motivation.

This is going to sound strange and I'm not trying to be little problems that we all have or percieve to have but alot of what we fear and obsess on is a symptom of the mental prosess that we put ourselves through and not so much that we are facing down this huge mountain of a problem. A lot of what we feel in conjunction with our problems is exagerated because of our natrual emotions.

I will step out on a limb here and share a story. Over 10 years ago I did a scum baggish thing, I was partying with friends and got introduced to crystal meth. I did it one time and did too much and actually had a minor drug heart attack. I was in my early 20's.

As my heart was palpitating and I was standing on the fence of life and death, something hit me very strongly and is something that I charish even today. First off I should not even be here typing this today because that could have been it for me. Secondly, and I realized at that moment that ALL the stuff that we worry about and ALL the things that we fear and obsess over mean NOTHING. It's something we feed into. It was like it was all just phantoms and had nothing to do with living.

Please don't take me wrong, we all have issues that need attention. Actually attention is the wrong word because that's all most of us do is pay attention to problems and do nothing to prosess them. The answer I found is to be pro active and imagine that you issues and problems are in a factory going through a prosess of molding and forming and transitioning and that the end result has no other option but to be a solution and absolute freedom from the THING that used to be a problem.

What I'm talking about is a mental prosess that has freed me up to take the physical steps to allow problems to lead to resolution. It's a lot of work and sometimes the ability to do this vanishes but it takes alot of mental reprogramming. I hope what I wrote meets with some understanding because it takes alot to come out with all of this, Best of luck!

Yes, but it's easier said than done.

I finally needed to block certain things out of my mind--just in order to go on with my everyday life, and live in the present.

Keep yourself busy and active. Set goals for the future. Think about what you are going to do each day, every day. Do not allow your mind "idle time" to think about the bad situations or problems. Exercise, do Yoga, study, take up a hobby, make plans with friends or family, take a class (or if you're in school, get a part-time job). Read books, newspapers, keep yourself aware of what's going on in the present. Keep your mind on eating healthily, and quitting any bad habits in your life.

Good luck with this. It gets easier the longer you keep it up.

There are several ways to do this.

I know two ways that works.

1. the practise of zazen from Asia

2. the practise of "The five mahalos" from old Hawai'i.

In the five mahalos monitor your thoughts and when you find yourself thinking something you would rather not think of; stop thinking that and try to find five things you are grateful for.

Think of your mind as a garden, and you are the gardner. Negative thoughts are weeds, and good thoughts are flowers of vegetables.

The negative thinking is generated by the animalistic tendencies of the subconscious mind (unihipili in Hawai'ian vernacular), and (Nefesh in Mystical Judaism), and (Nagi in Lakota vernacular).

Over time; your subconscious mind will learn by example. When it sees you pull up the weeds it sends up into consciousness; and you plant five good thoughts; It will learn in a few weeks to three or four months.

I used the technology pf old Hawai'i to completely transform my life.

no i cannot!!! good question by the way !!!! i find myself thinking of my moms death all the time..... she passed away 6 months ago.... i cannot seem to shake the depression i feel from that and just live as u stated!!! i need help !!!!

zen.

practise it. zen is many things.. and find hobbies.. go outside... get into activities..

it's not avoidance... with one motivating themself away from things every so often. ... one can conquer the very things that are crippling them at some point.
