It is impossible to have positive without negative or negative without positive. They are two sides of the same coin. If I told you, "DON'T THINK ANYTHING NEGATIVE!", the first thing you would do is think something negative.
But it isn't what thoughts that come across your mind that count. It is what you do with them when they come across your mind. So when you notice a negative thought, just say to yourself, "That is a negative thought." Notice it and let it go. You cannot force it out, but you can turn your mind to whatever you want. Nobody controls your mind but you.

I would highly suggest you seek a counselor or psychologist. They can really be helpful.
Thinking positive isn't as easy as just thinking positive thoughts. There is some other deeper issue when the only thing that comes to mind when someone says "you look so pretty today" is "are you blind? I hate this this this and this about myself," and you need treatment.
There are some books out there that may be helpful in positive thinking, but I would still suggest at least a consult with a professional.

One way is to pull yourself away from the negative thought. Think of a place in your past that is peaceful and that you have good memories of....a Beach, a forest, a favorite vacation spot, a place you felt at peace in and loved in. Imagine it exactly as it was: the smells, take feel of the air on your skin, the sounds, and the feelings you felt. Whenever you feel a negative fault, go there. Feel everything you felt. Then imagine a computer or eraser board in your mind. Erase or delete the negative thought. Then go to the positive image. After awhile, you can do this in seconds.

Reading many books on positive thinking and all non-sense, we people go on analysing what goes on inside our brain and thoughts intermittantly!!
My question is:
HOW COME YOU DENY THE OTHER SIDE OF THE COIN, WHEN YOU THINK ABOUT THIS SIDE?
HOW COME YOU FORGET WEST, WHEN YOU ARE LOOKING IN THE EAST?
HOW COME A DRIVER FORGET A PLACE OF "ACCIDENT PRONE ZONE", WHILE HE IS DRIVING THE VEHICLE NEAR THE PARTICULAR PLACE?
Negative thinking are, security signals infact!!
AND, KEEP IT IN MIND!!
UNTIL OUR BODY WORKS, EATING AND PUSHING OUT, GOOD BLOOD-BAD BLOOD, BREATH IN- AND- BREATH OUT, ALL SUCH THINGS GO ON!!
MIND TOO IS LIKE THAT ONLY!!
