The distance is the same: 'L'

30mi/hr * Xhrs. = L
20mi/hr * Yhrs. = L

30x = 20y and
x+y = 0.6hrs.

2 equations, 2 unknowns: x = 2/3y substitute in the 2nd equation yields:

x = 0.24hrs.
y = 0.36 hrs.

0.24hrs * 30mi/hr = 7.2 miles
0.36hrs * 20mi/hr = 7.2 miles
