Once I was at my friends house and all the family me, my friend, her sister and her mum were all watching Most Haunted one night when I was there. As it was time for me to go home I went upstairs with my friend to get my stuff packed up...and ready to go. Her little sister had been so scared by the Most Haunted episode that she grabbed her Mums arm and made her follow her upstairs and wait otuside as she went to the toliet. As her mum stood on the landing and me and my friend were in thier room the lights went off in the room but stayed on on the landing. We rushed out of the room and my friend little sister came screaming and crying out of the toliet. Because the light in there had too turned off. As Yvette does on Most Haunted as a joke because I didnt belive what was happeing i bent over the banster of the stairs and said 'if there is anyone there please make a noise' Two loud taps were heard and sent us all screaming. We all went down the stairs to check if anything was there and no one was there. We couldnt find a cause for what had happend but we all were really scared. Also I've watched a lot of Most Haunted episodes and on the live ones they often ask if anything strange happens at home as you watch the live ones and they ask you to ring in. This may have happened for us. This is a true story and we still dont know what happened that night. After previous web search we couldnt find anything ghostly about the area but it is the house, is next to a large wood, which they own and we often do see figures that appear just for a second and then disappear and we never have an explanation.

Okay, there was this girl. One night she went to baby sit. The parents left the house and their ten year old son with the girl. The girl started watching tv. She called her friend to come over but her friend was doing homework. She would come over later that night. The tv in the living room broke. The baby-sitter went upstairs and rang the paretns. She asked to watch the tv in the parents' bedroom. She got a fright when she saw a clown in the room. The mother asked her what was wrong and she said the clown gave her a fright. The motehr asked 'what clown' but the girl just laughed it off as being silly and hung up. She was still freaked out by the clown so she went to but a blanket over it's head. The clown jumped to life and started chasing her, laughing maniacally. He chased the girl around the house and finally got her in the closet. He stabbed her to death. The girl's friend came over a while later. She looked in the window and saw her dead friend. The clown jumped at the window, scaring her, then ran away. The friend rang the police. When they arrived she told them what she saw. the parents got home and asked if their son was alright. The policeman told them it was alright. There was no body and no clown. The policeman brought the friend home. The paretns discuss what apparently happened with eachother. That's the third baby-sitter that went missing...

well i knew some people who lived at Ft. Riley. they lived in the old part in the General housing. one time the daughter was in her room in the basement. her and her friend were sitting on the bed watching a t.v. show and they heard clapping they went to the door to get out but it wouldnt open. there was no lock. then the next time the mom was all alone in the house and she heard Heavy soldier boots on the floor above her. the next time she was in the shower, in the house all alone again. she heard the guitar in her sons room start to play an old saloon song. then when she was cooking dinner she sat down at the table for a littel while and turned on the portable t.v. the blender turned on. she screamed. she unplugged it. she said If you do that again george (their nickname for the ghost) i will move away from here and you wont have anymore fun. she went to go cook somemore when the blender just turned on again. many other things happend to. not to me though. George is short for Genera George Armstrong Custer.

This is a general belief, but I find it very scary: it's about some sort of demons called 'Matzarules'. They are dead children which get up from their graves and then wonder about in groups, carrying candles above their heads and making horrible, screaming noise. The Matzarules haunt, torture and strangle little children, outside or in their beds...
This is an ancient Serbian belief, around IX - X century AD. (Probably even sooner, but no data was found...)

There is one that I have, and it is a true story that happened in the 1970s at UC Santa Cruz her in California.
At this college campus, a student, let's call her Sherri, lived in a dorm apartment with another student, let's call Dawn. Anyways, Dawn was behind in her studies and at around 8pm told Sherri she was going to cram for a midterm at the library. Sherri told Dawn that she would probably be asleep earlier as she was exhausted from a final exam she had just taken.
Dawn studied her Calculus exam at the library and at around 11pm realize she forgot her lecture notes! She got back to the dorm at 11:15pm and noted that the lights were out. As it was a studio room with two beds, she did not want to wake up Sherri and without turning on the lights, knew that her notes were on the counter just by the door. She quietly left the apartment and went back to the library.
She studied all thru the night napping in 15 minute intervals at the library and took her final Calculus exam at 8am and was finished at 10am. When she arrived to her dorm, there were police everywhere! Nervous, she scurried up to her apartment where, in her dorm room was a grusome discovery of Sherri murdered, bludgeoned to death; her head was nearly decapitated, her body stabbed multiple times in her womb, stomach, lungs and throat. blood was everywhere. But the freak part was, on the door was the message in Sherry's blood that said:
"THANKS FOR NOT TURNING ON THE LIGHTS."

My grandmother lived in old victorian home, in a small town in Central California. In the back of the property, was a guest house, where my bachelor uncle used to live. He was a shell-shocked, World War 2 veteran, and never liked to be around kids, as we made him very nervous. So, he would just stay in the guest house.
During the summers, by brothers and I would stay with my grandmother, and we would always stay up late, playing in the back yard. One evening, we saw the light on in the guest house, and we assumed it was my uncle. We thought we would sneak up and spy on him. However, when we approached the guest house, the light would turn off. As the property was dark back there, we would get scared and go back to the main house. When we got back to the main house, the light would turn back on. We decided to sneak back up to the guest house, and see what my uncle was up to. However, when we got close, the light would turn off, and again we would retreat to the main. This pattern repeated about four times. On the last occassion, we were determined to really see what was going on.
We approached the guesthouse after the light turned back on, and sure enough, as we got closer, the light turned off. However, this time, we didn't run away, but went up to the front window of the guest house to see if we could look inside. The window was open. My oldest brother went up first, and looked inside, but couldn't see anything. He placed his ear against the window screen, and he waved to us, beckoning us to come closer. I heard heavy breathing. It wasn't like someone sleeping, but like someone struggling to catch his breath, as if gasping for air. We freaked out and ran inside the main house and sat in the living room. My grandmother had already gone to bed.
After a few minutes, we heard steps come up the front porch, and then the front door opened. It was my uncle. He said he was out with some friends at the bowling lanes all evening, that he had forgotten the key to the guest house, and came to get the extra key. We told him that there was someone in the guest house. He didn't believe us. We went with him out the back door and to the guest house. The light didn't turn on, and we didn't see or hear anything peculiar. My uncle unlocked the door, entered, and flipped the switch to turn on the light, but it didn't work. My uncle mentioned that the light bulb must have burned out.
My uncle was kind of crazy, and he just went to bed. We didn't say anything else, we just left my uncle alone.
The following morning, we told our grandmother all that had happened. She just smiled and said, oh you must have met old man Fellippi. He had respitory problems, and could barely speak. He stayed in the guest house. Whenever he needed something, he would just flick on the light and the servants in the main house could see the light and then go tend to him. Old man Fellippi died in the guest house.
True story.
