Easy poetry? Alan Ginsberg. It can't get any easier than that. The language used is not unnecessarily ornate or lyrical. In this light, Eliot is not a good subject to write on if you are pressed for time considering the hyper-intellectual jargon that he shrouded himself in when writing poems like "Four Quartets" and "The Wasteland".

So, I suggest "America" by Ginsberg. Easy peasy.

Or if you want something a little more shocking and perverse, yet easy to write on, try D.H. Lawrence. I quite like him myself. :)

Lord Byron or Shelley are very romantic poets and had very interesting lives. They would have to be 2 of my favorites. look up the poem "she walks in beauty" and see if it is what you are looking for.
