How is this not a quagmire?

What about the number of wounded soldiers. That number is at 22,000+ and climbing. How many of these soldiers will end up as casualties? How many of these soldiers are now deprived of living a normal life due to the injuries that they have sustained during the conflict?

Perhaps it time to review the situation and consider that success may not be feasible. I'm sure that many of you will consider me unAmerican, but there comes a time where withdrawal may be our only option.

The Vietnamese fought against Americans because they believed that it was a war to secure their freedom. That was a reason that we did not even consider back then. Do we actually know the reasons behind the Iraqi insurgency? Perhaps we should walk a mile in their shoes.

We have more people die in CA in one year from drunk driving. Get things in perspective.
Although any death is tragic, the libs said we would lose 25,000 in the first assault (and still voted to send them in) I would say that 3,114 over 3 years is pretty damn amazing. Name any other long term major conflict with less casualties.

I soldier is less likely to die in Baghdad than if they were a civilian on the streets of St. Louis. The per capita murder rate is higer than the per capita death rate of soldiers in Iraq.

Death TROLL- I am assuming this is a lack of typing skills, that you are not really meaning to call MARINES trolls! That said lets add up the amount of other wars,. I personally hate hearing about any one of our military being killed (husband Marine). Unfortunately that's what happens in war. Ever think about the endless amount of innocent people being killed in the US every day from drunk drivers, gangs, kidnappers? God Bless our military!

Why don't you compare that total to how many died on June 6, 1944. Look at how many died on Iwo Jima before we took control of the island. *LOL* If we listened to you the Germans would still be controlling Europe. And the Japanese would be controlling the Pacific.

Now if you really want to compalin about something, why not be complaining about all the Arab on Arab violence that is going on in several places. Better yet why don't you go over there and tell them just how stupid they are for fighting.

It is a tragic thing when any member of the military dies. What makes this more tragic is the attitude of Bush and Cheney. Have you ever heard of Hamburger Hill in Viet Nam. Thousands died to take this hill and then the military abandoned it a couple days later. WHY. If i were Bush and Cheney, I would not be able to shut my eyes at night. I want to be there on judgement day when he explains to God why he has done this horrible thing. These guys dying because of his war are far more brave and honorable than either Bush or Cheney. They do not have Daddy saving their little drunken butts by sending them to the 87th Alabama National Guard....that nobody remembers seeing him in....even members of his own unit. Wow, invisible Dubya.

Sad. The Republicans can be blamed for troop loses, playing games with the vote on the war, refusing to send a message to the President on behalf of the American People, playing politics while young American men die. Shameful Republicans.

No! Thirty-One Hundred and Fourteen. Brave Americans, Volunteered to save us from being attacked again. And get rid of any chance to having to defend ourselves over here. They're not numbers. They're Brave Americans who give their Lives to defend us. Show a little Respect, here.

WILL YOU & THE REST OF THE LEFT JUST SHUT UP ALREADY? GRANTED THAT THE TROOPS DIED BUT THIS IS A WAR. MANY AMERICANS HAVE DIED IN OTHER WARS. IF IT WAS UP TO YOU THIS COUNTRY WOULD BE SPEAKING GERMAN OR JAPANESE SINCE YOU WOULD HAVE DONE NOTHING IN WORLD WAR II.

So any time 3,114 men and women die, that means it is a quagmire???
